It was the next day. The time was about to be 6 in the morning.
They were ready to move out. After their dinner, they all went to their beds and took a decent amount of sleep.
Toshi woke up first then Raiden and everyone else. They prepared themselves and their bags for the journey. Though they had already prepared their bags before they went to sleep. They didn't want to be late this day.
Everyone came prepared out of their rooms with their bags on their backs. They were ready to leave at any point. They were not afraid of what awaited them outside because they believed in each other. Whatever was going to happen outside, they had each other's backs covered.
They all met in the corridor leading to the exit. They didn't talk with each other throughout the entire morning because of the tension. But, the time to move out was finally here.
"Is everyone ready?" Raiden finally broke the awkward silence.
"Yeah," Toshi said with the utmost believe in himself.
"I'm ready," Sheila said with a straight face. She was a little bit scared but tried to hide it.
"I think I am," Jun looked the most nervous one. He looked stressed as hell but he was ready to move out at any second.
"Yes, let's get moving, Raiden!" Makie said, she was calm and collected. She had gone through a lot, already. But, now she believed in both Toshi and Raiden. And, the motivation to finally be able to meet her parents made her forget all her fear.
She was ready to go and so was the rest of the group.
"If everyone is ready then there is no turning back anymore," Raiden took a deep breath in. "Everyone! Let's not look back and keep moving forward."
The group moved toward the exit. Toshi reached the gates and opened the door.
The air from outside gave them a cold breeze which made everyone stop their march for a second. That breeze might be the final signal for them to turn back inside.
But, it wasn't able to stop them. They crossed the exit and exited the house. They came onto the streets.
The first thing they did was to check their surrounding. No one could be seen. It was empty like an isolated colony.
They looked at each other and prepared their heart and minds to go through the journey.
They were scared but made themselves move their feet on that cold street which had stains of blood every now and then.
Before leaving, Raiden turned around to look at his house for the final time. The house where he had spent his whole life at. He was leaving it and there was no sign of his parents anywhere.
But, he neglected his feelings and started to move alongside the group.
He turned away from his house and increased the distance as he moved ahead with the group.
They had left the house and roamed around on the streets.
The streets which were supposed to be filled with the Flesh-Eating Monsters, now were empty. It was a good thing for the group but the best for them would be to not let their guard down at any cost and they knew why.
Their destination was a lot further this time and they had to travel a lot of distance on foot. It was a tough journey but they had no other option but to go through that.
They had adapted to the walk of a cat by walking without making any noise or minimizing it to a certain level.
If they wanted to live among those monsters, that was their last bet. To limit the sound as much as possible.
That's how they kept on walking on the streets.
They could not see the danger in front of their eyes but no one dared to make any noise.
The surroundings they walked by were completely isolated. Some showed the most horrific scenery imaginable and some just looked as if no one had lived there for ages.
It was scary enough to walk in this kind of surrounding but the scariest part of the road was the turns.
Every time a turn came, they dropped a heartbeat. The terror laid at what laid at the other side of the turn. 'What If a monster is awaiting at the other side of the turn?' They were haunted by this thought throughout their journey.
Raiden had to take most of the terror in it as he was in the front and was leading the entire group.
Toshi was assigned to be at the back of the group and look out for troubles if any occurs behind them.
The rest were inside the shield created by Raiden and Toshi. They felt a little more safe being within the circle of both Toshi and Raiden.
Time went by as they walked on the streets.
Noon passed and they ate their lunch in an isolated park. They didn't talk with each other there. They ate their food and continued on the journey.
They covered even more distance.
Whenever they got tired, they would look for someplace and rest there for 10 minutes or so.
Evening came and they had entered the area where Makie lived.
It was no different from what they had seen all this time. Blood, some corpses and emptiness.
They had been walking throughout the whole day but they didn't encounter any of the monsters.
Others were glad but it annoyed Raiden as hell.
He was confused.
'Not a single one of them? How is it possible?' He thought. 'I can somewhat accept not seeing them that night but after that, there should have been a large growth of them. But, they are nowhere to be seen.'
Raiden's worry was reasonable as it was so unnatural and bizarre.
Everyone else got used to walking on the streets like that and no one was nervous anymore or feared anything. Except for Raiden. He couldn't just ignore the bizarre situation.
And, due to that he never stopped getting ready for a jumpscare at the turns.
Every time a turn would come, he would peek onto the road first and then move ahead.
He had done that countless times on that day but he kept on the same experience as what he got when he peeked through the first turn.
Which were nervousness and chills. The fear of the unknown did not stop to haunt him at every turn. And, he did not stop to prepare himself to face what laid behind that turn.
Now, they had come so close to Makie's house.
It was still the evening and the sun was about to set down. They were going to reach their destination way sooner than what they had expected. Now, it would not take them more than an hour to reach Makie's house.
But, the end didn't seem to look so easy for them.
As the thing happened which Raiden was preparing himself from when they started their journey.
A crosswalk came and they had to turn right. Raiden prepared himself to peek to the other side and witnessed what laid there.
The other side was nothing but pure hell.
The whole road to the right was filled with nothing but monsters.
Raiden's moment froze and the group didn't make any move either.
They all were completely frozen.
Raiden from the shock of seeing the literal hell right in front of his eyes and the rest of the group just followed what Raiden did.
The rest of the group was still unknown of the hell which laid on the other side.
But, the monsters from that side seemed to have noticed the uninvited visitors. They all turned around as soon as Raiden peeked at their side.
And, then began, the march of the monsters toward the group.
The mad and hungry-looking monsters came straight toward Raiden and the group.
