"What happened?" I blurted out curiously not thinking about how annoying that probably made me seem.
"I got mugged on my way here by some guys but I beat them all" I gave him a wide smile and patted his thick bicep.
"Woah, that's so cool" I gushed in excitement and I waved my hands around. I have always wanted to get involved in a fight.
Elijah raised his brow, his lips twitching upwards in a smile but he hissed in pain at his knuckles and cheek. My eyes widen when I thought about the mini first aid kit in my bag. I ran back to where I carelessly threw my empty bag and took out a mini kit from a hidden compartment.
This has become a habit, I guess, to carry a kit with you everywhere in case your wound opens up, you never know.
Elijah raised his brow-yet again- when I brought up the kit to him.
"Do you want to do it yourself or I can do it for you?" I suggested him with a small smile and he nodded his head offering his hand to me.
Having quite experience with me, I quickly and expertly dressed his knuckles and covered them neatly with gauze. Time for his cheek. Squeezing some of the ointment on my finger, I looked up to see Elijah staring at me with an intense gaze.
My cheeks heat up and my face flushed as I tried to avert his gaze. Chewing my bottom lip, I ran my finger on his cheekbone. He didn't even hiss in pain. I'd be withering and wheezing on the floor by now.
He was strong. And handsome!.....
I blushed and cursed myself when I looked at the band-aids and found that they were frozen ones! ugh, fricking burnt toast and nuggets! Dang, it. Pineapple!
Elijah looked at them and chuckled shaking his head. I looked in contemplation and just stared at his face.
"Hurry along, Alara", hooooooollllllyyyyyy Nutella, my name has never sounded this beautiful.
I blinked at him once, then twice, and then shrugged putting a frozen band-aid on his cheek. I bit my lip to control my laughter but it slipped anyways as I burst into a fit of laughter covering my mouth, he looked so silly!
Elijah gave me a blank look and narrowed his eyes but I could see the amusement dancing in his eyes. They looked bright and full of life unlike just moments prior where he looked all deadly and ready to kill.
Just then we heard loud banging on the door, all traces of my laughter gone and I looked at Elijah with a fearful face. I tried to at least put on a strong front but who am I kidding?
Strong and me? Pffft. I'm weak as a noodle!
Elijah turned all serious and sighed standing up to open the door. I looked at him panicked, what was he doing?!! Why was he opening the dang door?! Why the heavens was he-
Oh. It was just Nate who was panting, breathing heavily almost wheezing using his knee for support. He then looked at Elijah and then burst into a fit of laughter, falling dramatically on the floor, and occasionally slapping it and clutched his stomach, his laughter booming around the room. Talk about drama and extra.
"Is that a fucking frozen stic-" He paused looking around the room.
Then his eyes landed on me and he instantly ran over to me and cradled my small self in his big arms.
"Oh, my- my smol precious tiny lil been" He uttered, his voice full of sympathy and concern as he caressed my hair and hugged me tighter.
"Am fine" I choked out but he just continued.
"I'm so sorry, my tiny wittle Lara Bear, I don't know how it must have been for you, my cookie- oww" He winced when Eljiah punched the back of his neck and he let go of me. Freaking finally.
Nate smiled sheepishly caressing the back of his neck, "Oh, sorry Labear"
"How'd you know?" Elijah asked him standing, leaning on the wall with his arms crossed and his usual blank face with eyes that starred inside your soul and scared the living nuts outta you.
"There is a whole mission going out there, it's fucking crazy! They have like a whole team divided in squads to look for you, they are so fucking scary" He shuddered looking at me and gave me a sympathetic look. I gulped looking at Elijah who just gave me a blank nod.
"It's nothing to worry about, they are just a bunch of fools" Elijah muttered in a strong voice playing with a ball that I don't even know where he found from.
"Yes, Lara Bear, we're here to protect you, we're your knights in shining Armour," Nate said with a determined face and grabbed a packet of chips from underneath the couch. Where the chocolate fudge are they just grabbing things from?
I patted around the couch, and my eyes widened in disbelief as I found snickers laying there. What the heck?
Shrugging, I took off the wrapper and start munching it.
"So what do we do now?" I asked in a low soft voice and Elijah looked like he was figuring something out.
"We just stay here, hang out and shit, and we'll leave whenever you want to, remember you don't need to be scared from anyone Angel, especially not these measly pathetic fools," Elijah said to me in a soft tone, coming to sit beside me and rubbed my shoulder in comfort.
"Yeah, don't be scared from anyone, every boy here is scared to death from our Eli right here cuz he basically jus-" And then he was paused and gulped nervously with a sheepish smile chuckling nervously looking at Elijah who was giving him a death glare I-will-fudging-kill-you-where-you-sit kinda look.
"What?" I asked curiously playing with my fingers looking at the two of them as they conversed with their eyes.
"Nothing Lara Bear, you don't worry your pretty little head about it," Nate said to me waving the conversation off and indulging me with a documentary of butterflies.
"I'm kinda hungry", I murmured after a while glad my stomach wasn't growling like a beast it usually does. It would have been so embarrassing.
"Sorry, Alara but we only have snacks in here, and I m hungry as well," Nate said rubbing his stomach while I gave him a stinky eye.
"You ate 5 fricking packets of chips all by yourself" I accused him with a pointed look poking his chest while Elijah shoved his head with his foot.
"What?! I'm a growing boy, I need my food" He scoffed with an offended expression dusting off his clothes and standing up. Elijah stood up as well and picked up my bag.
"Time to face our fear, Lara Bear," Nate said with a serious look, his chest tight as he looked up to the sky.
Elijah rolled his eyes and gave me a hand, "Let's go Angel"
