Katya walked quickly, but by the time she reached the Palmer, her anger had subsided. She knew that she usually wasn't so hotheaded. But then again, she had never loved a man as deeply as she had fallen for Cyrus. She realized that she was in a stressed state of mind being worried for Cyrus stuck in this time. She knew these emotions didn't help matters. If there was any chance of them getting back to their own time, she had to snap out of it. What was it about Cyrus that made her react this way? He hadn't really done anything wrong. She knew she couldn't make him love her the way she loved him. A tear started to fall down her cheek.
She said to herself that she had to get back to him, to tell him she was sorry and to try and explain why she got so angry. She turned around and headed back toward the lake.
As she walked down Michigan Avenue trying to spot the rock where they sat, she felt guilty. It was such a lovely feeling being there with him. Why did she have to spoil it?
