Capítulo 81: Chapter 079

Alex looked at the newly evolved Leafeon with happiness. Turns out the method of breaking a bottleneck right next to the Moss Rock was the right method. He trained one of the level 19 Eevee till it broke the bottleneck to level 20. When it did, true to his theory, it sucked all the energy in the vicinity, along with the mutated Grass type energy of the Moss Rock, and evolved into the Grass type Eeveelution Leafeon soon after.

Alex now knew he had to evolve a few other Eevee into Leafeon just to be sure. It could take a while since other than the remaining 19 one, the other closes two were 17. It could take a couple of weeks to get them all to level 19 and succeed in breaking the bottleneck.

He has a signal in this part of the forest, so he called Professor Oak to let him know.

"Professor! I have succeeded. My theory was partially right. Eevee needs a special environment to evolve. More specifically, they need to be around this source of mutated Grass type energy that I call Moss Rock. I will send you some pictures. The method of evolution is to break a bottleneck in the vicinity of the Moss Rock. As you know, when Pokemon break a bottleneck, the surrounding energy surges onto them. When Eevee does so next to this source of mutated Grass energy, it is stimulated by it and evolves into Leafeon" said Alex.

"That is a wonderful surprise you have brought me, Alex! You can stay there and continue your research. Also, send me your coordinates. I will have a friend come with some specialized equipment that can monitor the energy levels and composition of the surroundings. Maybe we can find out how to artificially create and harness this source of energy, since it would be very inconvenient for anyone who wants Leafeon to travel to Hoenn's Petalburg Forest " said Professor Oak.

"Actually Professor, I suspect this Moss Rock exists in Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos as well, judging from some research on the Internet. But they were all more difficult to access than this one in Petalburg Forests. So I choose this one. The same goes for the mutated Ice type energy source that I will find somewhere near Snowpoint City" said Alex.

"I see. None in Kanto or Johto then?" asked the Professor.

"No sir, not that I could identify, at least" said Alex.

"I see. Hence, it is best we create an artificial source of the mutated Grass type energy for Leafeon and the suspected Ice type energy for Glaceon" said Professor Oak.

Alex then decided to train his Pokemon and a few Eevee to prepare a few for their evolution to Leafeon and the other for their eventual evolution to Glaceon.

The place he was in at Petalburg Forest was an excellent place to train his Pokemon. There were Pokemon of all levels in his vicinity. There were a bunch of Vigoroth to the west, ranging from level 18 to level 30, that would come one by one to challenge him frequently. The Breloom that recently broke its bottleneck and was soon to be at the Veteran stage had a much of lower level minions he could challenge with Lapras, while it could match his Charmander. There were a bunch of Beautifly in the north that would accept his challenge as long as he promised to heal them and feed them afterwards.

Other than this, there were hundreds of Tailow and Swellow that would fly over the forest and perch on random trees. If he spotted one and challenged it, it would always oblige.

As he was thinking, he spotted a level 35 Swellow perched on a tree in front of him.

Throwing out Magnemite's Pokeball, Alex yelled, "Swellow! I challenge you! Lets have a battle!"

Swellow sent a lazy Air Slash, which Magnemite deflected by spinning with Gyro Ball. This was a trick he had developed after he remebering its application this way in the anime from his previous life.

Also, after it deflected the attack, its Analytic ability would activate and give it a boost to its subsequent attack. This was how Alex usually opened his battles with Magnemite, tanking and deflecting a shot with Gyro Ball after which attacking, taking advantage of the Analytic ability. So even without prompting, Magnemite would deflect incoming special attacks with Gyro Ball.

"Thunderbolt" yelled Alex, upon which Magnemite unleashed a boosted Thunderbolt.

Alex fully expected the Swellow to fall, but it hung on with Endure. It then attacked with a speedy Arial Ace, which got a direct hit. Magnemite was not severely affected, due to its Steel typing resisting Flying type attack.

"Finish it off! Use Thunder Shock!" yelled Alex.

Magnemite did just that, and Swellow fell.

Checking its stats, Alex realized that it had risen to level 32 and learnt Flash Cannon.

"Alright. Lets go find some other Pokemon to battle against" said Alex, returning Magnemite.
