I was sitting directly behind the prosecutor's table, with Makai, Momma, Da and Doc. There were no other spectators in the room, not that we were spectating. We were witnesses. Well, two of us were spectating and offering moral support. The other three of us were the witnesses.

My heart was still racing with fear when the door in the far right corner of the room opened up. There were four armed guards that came in with two prisoners in between them. The guards were all in their Mer forms with some sort of short spear in their hands. It was actually more trident-like than spear-like, but it was only about three feet long.

The prisoners that they brought in were in their human forms. They weren't allowed to be in their Merman forms at all. I recognized them though. It was Tide and Dwell. I didn't care if they didn't have their scales and tails, I would recognize them anywhere.
