Capítulo 15: 15. Selena and Barbara
Alex just smiled wryly and got into the car and drove to Pick up Selina from the apartment. He bought this apartment for her when he saved her from the streets of Gotham.
Barbara and his meeting wasn't all that special. He met her when Jim Gordon came to visit their Mansion with Barbara to investigate the case about his parents.
——Flashpoint Paradox——
"Hi Mr Alfred, I would like to consult you about the case". Gordon said seriously as he sat opposite of Alfred on the couch.
"Very well and who would this young lady be?" Alfred agreed and then asked about the small redhead near Gordon.
"This is my pride, my daughter Barbara". Gordon said as he puffed out his chest.
"A lovely name for a beautiful girl". Alfred complimented with a smile.
"Master Alexander, please stop hiding behind the door and come greet the guests". Alfred said as he sensed Alex.
"Hehe, you got me. Hello, I am Alexander Wayne. Nice to make your acquaintance". Alex gave a noble's bow as he introduced himself politely.
"Barbara, you go play with Mr Alexander and we will discuss here". Gordon said as he patted his daughter's head.
Barbara nodded as she quickly ran over to Alex cheerfully and introduced herself. "Hey, I am Barbara Gordon. I like Martial Arts and investigating cases". Barbara put her forward for a handshake and quickly made her introduction.
"Haha, I am also very good at Martial Arts. I can teach you if you want". Alex said as he grasped her hand.
"Alright then let's go". Barbara quickly asked as she looked at him enthusiastically.
After their meet, Barbara started to regularly visit Alex to compare Martial Arts and spend some time together.

Selena on the other hand was a special case when he started doing his Vigilante business when he was 9 years old.

Alex was going around while looking for crime in the shithole known as Gotham City. 'Man I have already stopped 2 rape attempts and 3 thefts in the span of 3 hours'.
Alex lamented as he thought about the frequency of crimes in Gotham. 'How can a city even function with such a high crime rate. No winder Batman is always tired in the comics'. Alex thought as he felt that writers made Gotham City ridiculous.
He stood on the edge of a building and a saw a small shadow steal a couple of dollars form a man and run into the alley at the fastest speed possible.
Alex immediately dropped down from the building and landed on the ground like a cat without taking any damage whatsoever.
"Little lady, stop with your crimes. I can tell that it's your first time by your behaviour". Alex spoked gently as he apprehended her.
"Leave me alone". The girl growled as she looked at him like an angry cat.
"How about this? I will give you some money every week. You just appear here, all you have to do is promise to never to do crime again". Alex said as he handed her a hundred bucks.
Selena looked at the note in her hand and then over to the masked Alex with vigilant eyes but she still took the money and handed over the stolen money to him.
She was just small girl that lost her mother when she committed suicide and later also lost her Father when he drank himself to death.
Granted they never acted like real parents but at least she had a roof on her head and money to spend. After her father died, she lost every support that she had.
She only has a broken house that her Father left behind. So she had to resort to stealing after enduring hunger for so long because she had no money and no one was willing to feed her.
She felt a few tears in her eyes as she looked at the hundred dollar note in her eyes but she didn't show them and left with just an "okay".
She didn't trust him yet. So she will observe him for a couple of times before making a decision. A decision that may change her life for good or bad.
Alex observed her behaviour and emotions with his experience and knew what she was thinking but he didn't say anything and let her go.
Then he quickly put the money back into the Man's pocket silently and left the area to stop more crimes in this hellhole.
This routine continued for a couple of times and one day, the girl just started following him when he was going to leave.
"Why are you following me?" Alex turned around as he asked.
"Why are you doing this?" The girl asked as she looked at him.
"Because I can't see a young girl resort to crime". Alex answered back simply without concealing anything.
The girl nodded then clenched her fists. "I want to go with you". She asked as she looked at him with determination.
"Are you sure? What if I am doing it, just to lead you into a trap?" Alex asked as he expected this answer long ago.
When you give someone warmth and support. It is natural for them to crave more, especially when they are going through difficult and hard times.
"I have decided. If you really sell me then I will just commit Suicide". The girl clenched her fists and looked at him with determination.
"Alright, follow me. Also, what's your name?" Alex turned around as he asked.
"Selena, Selena Kyle". The girl replied back and followed him silently.
"Good name". Alex complimented and led the way.
Selina smiled when she heard Alex's compliment. She felt calm and warm near him as he was her only support when she needed it the most.
She had never even seen his face but she still never felt bad near him and calm and warm. She liked this feeling as she never felt this feeling even from her parents.
Alex quickly arranged a temporary place for her to stay and also arranged a couple more things for her. After finishing everything, Alex turned around left with a Kakashi salute.
