Jill and Kane, who was anxiously waiting outside, was dumbfounded.

"…what?" Jill asked in a low voice.

He examined Chess who just got out from the passenger seat, completely unharmed.

"You're… you're alive?" he asked.

It was a rude question. But that just shows how surprised he was to see that Chess is safe.

Well, Chess came out from the passenger seat. The gunman was pointing his gun on the window of the passenger seat. Basically, the gun was aimed at the person on the passenger seat. Then, the bullet was shot. It was a clean shot. Unless you have problems with your eyes, you wouldn't miss.

So, how come Chess is unscathed?

"Yes… But, I think Peterson was shot."

Not like Jill really cared, but he still took the liberty to glance at the inside of the car.

There, he saw the frozen Peterson.

He had a cut on the bridge of his nose, and on the window beside him, there was a hole.

Jill was bewildered.
