Capítulo 38: "Big Day"
It's 7:30 morning, the alarm start to sound. Paulo wakes up from his sleep and opens his eyes, his eyes were still looking sleepy and his head was feeling dizzy but some how he manages to pick himself up away from the bed.
He then tries to also wake up Fabio from his sleep by pulling off the curtains, it was a very bright sunny morning today the sunlight flashes straight at the face of Fabio he then finally opens his eyes as he finally wakes up from his sleep. He throws a pillow at him out of frustration saying
"Sometimes you act like an eccentric old man who is liked by nobody." Paulo smirks and then tells him
"Dude don't you know ? Today is the big day !" Fabio annoyed that he broke his sleep and said.
"You think that I am going to forget about this big day ? I have no issue regarding my memory power I am still good in it." Paulo can't stop smiling and clarify to him.
"I know you have no issue regarding your memory power but it's a big day so we have to be prepared for it." Fabio was still sleepy and Paulo splash some water at his face and this made him very frustrate and he shouts at him.
"What the hell dude ! you are excited that it's going to be a cup final, it's a relegation play offs match chill out dude." Paulo explains the reason of his excitement.
"Every match should be considered as a cup final. If we consider them then we will be in the cup final one day. Well I am going take bath now." As he goes to bathroom Fabio argue to him.
"Hey ! it's my house amigo I should go first, stop.... stop there !" Paulo closes the door at his face and the door hits the nose of Fabio and starts yelling.
"Ouch ! dude c'mon get out from my bathroom let me get in you ungrateful person." Paulo opens the door and Fabio was like thank god he opened the door but Paulo then gives him the bucket and towel and sarcastically tell him to bath outside in the yard and quickly closes the door, Fabio knocks the door and warns him that he will break in otherwise, Paulo then sarcastically dares him to do that and said.
"Oh yeah ! Then do it, use your strength c'mon break in." Fabio gives up on it and then lies on bed and puts towel on his face relax.
Luis Salvatore with his asistant standing in the stands of the stadium and having some chat about today's match. Luis Salvatore start off the conversation with words about his fate this season.
"Today is going to be a start of our new journey, a new road whose end is glory." The asistant wasn't too much pleased by those in fact he was very much confused by that and simply ask the reason of his ambitions.
"Mr. President I don't understand, I mean what makes you so much confident, what is the reason that you believe this season our team will reach to the glory ?" Salvatore with smile on his face simply tell.
"I don't know but I believe that this season we are going to end our eleven year drought and bring the Lega d'italia title back to this very stadium." His asistant tries to make him realise that it's not easy to win the title.
"Mr. President I appreciate your confidence but please don't be overwhelmed by that. There are many good teams and most importantly our rivals Rey del Calcio are in a good form even after wining the title six times consecutively and they are looking for the seventh title as well and their team is well organized than the other teams in Italy."
Luis Salvatore is aware of that but still he believe on his team and this made his asistant very much confused that what makes him so confident about the team.
"Mr. President I should not ask this but..... why you think that the current team that we have will do something unimaginable. We the same squad since last five years with very little addition and they did nothing that makes them a title contenders this season, we didn't even finished into top ten since last five years then go this team is going win this season."
Luis Salvatore turns himself towards his asistant and leans on the rail, he explains him the actual that why they didn't performed up to the expectations.
"You even tried know why the team were constantly deliver a downgrade performance ? " This question made his asistant to think deep but he couldn't reply him with an satisfying answer later Salvatore explains him.
"Because it was us who made things complicated in the past for them. We never listened what they really want, what they want us to do for them, do they really want to work with coach that we had before. We just ingnored it and put the blame all over them when wanted our support, this made them demotivated and there was development of certain distrust between the board and the players, due that distrust many players from our acadamy left us and joined our rivals because they thought that they will not get a chance to flourish themselves in this club and who there are only because they signed a contract and due to constant bad individual performances no teams wants to buy them."
His asistant now finally understand the whole situation of the club and the players he nodded his head and claims that he finally understood everything. Luis Salvatore then tells him what they have to do.
"I have learned from my past mistakes that I've made and now I will make my team belief that aren't bad they can win this year and show everyone that Parma C.F is back ! We motivate them, show our full support to them and because they will fight for the title with great desire, with a hunger to win, with a determination to win. We have already started by removing our former coach and replaced him with the person who players trust and most importantly including goal scoring machine into our who our squad who is going to be a future star." His asistant can't really recognise who he is talking about and asks him immediately.
"Of course you know who I am talking about ! It's Paulo, Paulo Romani who is going to bring those glory days back to this club I have my full faith in him, he is dedicated to this like nobody else was before and he now become the dearest person of the team, everyone loves to play with him and soon the Parma fans will also cherish him with their love and support." His asistant wasn't looking convinced by his thought on Paulo in fact he still doubts on Paulo whether he will reach his full potential or not.
"Mr. President why are so sure that Paulo will be the next star of this club ?" Luis Salvatore gives him a awkward look and questions
"So you think that I am over exaggerated about him ? Do you have any problem with him or do you have certain feeling of dislike towards him ?" His asistant rubbishes all of the and answers him.
"No Mr. President you are getting me wrong, I mean we have to be practical no matter how good he perform in trainings but in the end he is a player rejected from a college team he have no experience perform in a high level football match." Luis Salvatore with a serious look on his face said.
"Ok ! if he needs to prove himself that can he perform in a high level football match then he not just you but the whole Italy. The team has arrived ?" His asistant tells that not now but they will arrive within an hour later Luis ask him.
"Ok, the jerseys are prepared for them ?" His asistant replies.
"Yeah the jerseys are ready but not for one player." Luis Salvatore ask which player his asistant gulp and said.
"Paulo" Luis Salvatore with a scary look that frightens him and then explains.
"Mr. President everything happened so quick that I've got no time to ask our kit manufacturer to produce a kit for Paulo and he have no squad number as well." Luis Salvatore understands the situation and forgives him for that and asked him.
"Ok give him a normal jersey but remember for next time, today after the match he will get a squad number, inform me when the players arrive." After that Luis Salvatore goes back to his office while his asistant is very tense about today's match.
