Capítulo 16: Chapter 14: Sports Festival Pt.2
"START!"
"RRAAAAAAAAAARRGH!", more than half the groups charged straight for Midoriya's group with a battle cry, all aiming for the 10 million points.
"Goddammit", Akutagawa murmured under his breath. He knew that there would be a lot of people coming after them but still, this was a little ridiculous.
"Midoriya, let's go!"
"Yes! OUR PLAN IS TO RUN AWAY", Midoriya yelled.
"I won't let you!", Juzo from Class 1B released his quirk Softening to turn the ground into quicksand, hindering movement.
"Sorry, but I prefer it hard", Akutagawa muttered before activating Rashomon to boost their group into the air. "Midoriya, do it".
"Right, cover your eyes!", he yelled before pressing a button and activating the jet pack on his back raising them up higher just in time as Rashomon was severed from below.
"Tch", Akutagawa clicked his tongue. He didn't have time to grumble before blocking off Jiro's attack with a Rashomon tendril. "Can't believe you'd take us from behind like that Jiro", Akutagawa called out in a teasing tone as they flew away.
"Akutagawa!", Jiro screamed in slight embarrassment.
"Nice one Akutagawa!", Midoriya praised as Uraraka called out to them to brace for their landing. It went smoothly as she had made everyone in the group weightless.
"MY BABIES ARE AMAZING, RIGHT? DON'T YOU LOVE THEM?", Mei asked in excitement.
"Yes! Your babies are amazing Hatsume!"
'Ah, dirty jokes are my thing', Akutagawa thought as they rushed forward, Uraraka grumbling from behind. Stopping to look around, they were being encircled by several other groups, a perverted laugh ringing out. A tick mark appeared on Akutagawa's forehead as he recognized that laughter.
"Up and away!", activating Rashomon again, Akutagawa boosted them into the air once more, narrowly dodging Mineta's sticky balls. Tsuyu's tongue came straight after only to be blocked by a Rashomon tendril. "If this were any other situation I'd be flattered by a girl offering me tongue", Akutagawa muttered as he scanned the surroundings.
"Eeeeh?", Uraraka blushed.
"DON'T GET CARRIED AWAY!", an angry voice was heard followed by explosions as Bakugou propelled towards them.
"Akutagawa!"
"On it!"
"Rashomon: Kurohatou!", Rashomon tendrils sprang out and batted Bakugou back down as his explosion came, redirecting it to the side.
"Bastard!", Bakugou yelled as Sero pulled him back.
Landing, Midoriya's group didn't manage to get far before being blocked off by an angsty half and half individual with daddy issues. Just their luck.
Midoriya and Todoroki stared down at each other intensely, their gazes burning into one another. The air suddenly felt heavier as sweat dropped off Midoriya's face.
"As much as I'm enjoying this romantic stare down, we need to escape", Akutagawa suddenly burst the tense atmosphere with a bored look on his face.
Midoriya anxiously looked around as other groups came at them again. Todoroki issued some orders as Momo made a tarp much to Midoriya's confusion, but Akutagawa's face darkened.
"INDISCRIMINATE SHOCK 1.3 MILLION VOLTS!", Denki yelled, discharging a wide-scale electricity attack that shocked everyone around them. Midoriya paled as the electricity charged towards their group.
"Devoured Space", Akutagawa blocked off the electricity as red sparks of his own charged against Denki's.
After shocking the other groups Todoroki froze them and continued charging at Midoriya's group, snatching any of the frozen group headbands he crossed paths with.
As Midoriya clicked the button to activate the jetpack, sparks flew out of it. Akutagawa clicked his tongue. Was this fate or something? Even with all that work preventing the equipment from damaging.
"BABYYY", Mei yelled in anguish.
Uraraka sped backwards with extreme speed, putting distance in between their and Todoroki's group. Akutagawa sent Rashomon tendrils at them, only for them to be blocked or frozen by Momo and Todoroki.
Suddenly they stopped at the edge of the field. They were cornered with ice blocking them from both sides. Midoriya's group dodged each of Todoroki's advances by staying on his left side.
"Everyone, there is little time left. After this move, I won't be of use to you", Iida said as he got into position.
"Iida?"
"Hang on tight".
Charging up his engines, a high-pitched noise was heard like that of a fighter jet about to take flight.
"Torque Over, Recipro Burst!". Iida burst forward at a high speed, almost invisible to the eye. Time seemed to move in slow motion and Midoriya extended his hand and tried to call out to his group but it was too late, Iida and the rest were almost on top of them. When everything seemed hopeless, the growl of a beast cut through the noise of Iida's engines and the roaring of the audience.
"...GOKU MON AGITO", Akutagawa snapped and the giant maw of a beast materialized from his jacket, its jaws closing down on Todoroki's group. Akutagawa had made sure to lessen the power, instead making the jaws blunt instead of razor-sharp, or Iida would be meat mush for his Rashomon.
Todoroki acted quickly and without thought as he brought out his fire and sent highly concentrated flames, dematerializing Rashomon.
"WHOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAA LOOK AT THAT FAST EXCHANGE!", Present Mic howled into the mic with excitement.
An explosion rocked the stadium followed by a mushroom of smoke that blocked the vision of the audience. Most of the participants stopped, looking in the direction of the explosion.
Heavy breathing was heard followed by both Midoriya and Todoroki's group ragged appearance, covered in dust and their gym outfits burnt with Todoroki's group coming up on the short end.
"Boy am I lucky I got this mask", Akutagawa's nervous chuckle broke the silence that enveloped the stadium before the crowd burst into cheers.
"Did you see any of that!? He's got some insane speed!"
"I know right? I could barely catch a glimpse with my quirk!"
"But that other kid's reaction was even faster, that roar almost gave me a heart attack!"
The audience loudly discussed the exchange between the two groups as the two groups recovered from their stunned states and glared at one another, Todoroki's icy stare fixed on Akutagawa who smiled nervously in his direction.
"Haha... Sorry but I don't swing that way", Akutagawa cracked a joke as he stared back at Todoroki. The air seemed to get considerably colder compared to the previous sweat-inducing heat from the explosion.
"You...", Todoroki's voice came out rough and intimidating as he stretched out his hand and instantly freezing their surroundings, blocking off the other groups from interrupting their fight.
"Todoroki...", Midoriya said nervously with a noticeable shiver running through his body. "He seems mad, g-get ready guys".
"Right!

Maerdy Note: Stop it, I already know. I went out for milk and didn't come back for a while, I understand your frustrations and stuff. So, I had shit to do know, important stuff like taking care of my poor lil baby brother yes yes. I am such a good sibling, got my familial piety or whatever, i think that's how that works.
