Tom felt more tears fill the corner of his eyes as he let them fall. He did not care if anyone was watching them. At that moment, Darce did not wish to be a strong pillar. Instead, he wished to be a child who wanted to cry. The sense of guilt that was pulling him back finally left his shoulders after years of suffering alone. He can think of all the times he prayed to be called to the land of the dead. Yet, he came back alive every moment.

Finally, he was thankful he did not die. The young Princess survived. Her words made his throat fill up as he sniffed and hid his face on her shoulder. He wished he could wail, but all that came out was tears. Rosa chuckled as she patted his shoulders. To think she would see a day when the strong big brother cried like this made her feel like a child.

She wanted to giggle as well. All the while, Tom had only one line whispering out of his mouth. “Thank you, thank you for being alive. Thank you.”
