Chapter 51: Overwhelmed
Seeing Andrew launch a sudden attack, Magneto quickly raised his hands. And the steel beneath Andrew's feet instantly collapsed and transformed, firmly entangling his legs like boots.
Immediately after, a large number of steel spikes emerged from the tower, shooting towards Andrew from above and below. The density was so high that it felt like a thousand soldiers throwing spears simultaneously.
Coulson and the others couldn't help but exclaim. Magneto truly lived up to his name as the master of magnetism, a force equivalent to an entire army.
"You're finished, kid."
Magneto looked triumphant. In fact, this move was followed by another. If Andrew managed to withstand these steel spikes, Magneto planned to merge them all together into a gigantic iron ball. At that point, whether Andrew was a martial arts master or a Jedi, he would surely meet his demise.
Just then, a figure appeared out of thin air in front of Magneto, smiling and saying, "Surprise!"
"This is impossible!"
Magneto was shocked. It suddenly dawned on him, and he asked with astonishment, "Can you teleport?"
"My speed is faster than teleportation," Andrew shrugged. "The moment you made your move, I jumped into the sky. Because I'm so fast, I left a residual image in my original position. Tsk tsk, you're making such a big fuss over a residual image. You truly live up to you reputation Metal man."
"I am Magneto!"
Magneto's face turned red with anger. He shouted, "Do you think you've won? This battle has only just begun."
"I know you've prepared many tricks, but sorry to say, you've lost since I stood before you," Andrew said. "Magneto, look into my eyes."
Magneto instinctively looked into Andrew's eyes and saw two flames, two pitch-black flames capable of igniting his soul.
The Eye of Judgment/ Penance Stare activated.
Countless images of sin, such as Magneto controlling steel to demolish buildings and causing countless innocent civilians to die, flooded Magneto's mind.
"I am not guilty. Humans have always persecuted us mutants. They deserve to die, and I kill humans for the sake of mutants. I am not wrong."
Magneto shouted loudly, and the images of guilt in his mind immediately disappeared.
The Eye of Judgment was not invincible. If the person being judged believed they were not guilty, the judgment would fail. For example, in the comics, Punisher Frank Castle resisted the Eye of Judgment from Ghost Rider.
"Extremists are always trouble," Andrew shook his head and said, "It's not wrong to harm ordinary people, but what about harming mutants?"
Once again, a plethora of images flooded Magneto's mind, each containing the presence of mutants.
Thirty years ago, in order to steal classified information, Magneto disregarded everyone's advice and sent two mutants into a laboratory, leading to them becoming experiments for the military.
Twenty years ago, due to Magneto's strategic mistake, a division of mutants was annihilated by human forces.
Ten years ago, Magneto mistakenly believed that two mutants were traitors and killed them.
Now, Magneto was prepared to sacrifice the young Rouge for his grand plan.
Magneto couldn't deny these sins. His soul was ignited, and more sins surfaced, including betraying Charles and abandoning his own children.
Magneto did have emotions, but they were entirely dedicated to mutants. In his eyes, humans were another species.
That's why, in the movies, when Mystique turned back into a regular person, Magneto abandoned her. Magneto was too extreme.
"No!"
Magneto roared unwillingly, but he couldn't stop the burning of his soul. In reality, he wasn't afraid of death, but his mutant cause was unfinished; he couldn't die.
At that moment, Magneto's vision blurred, and he appeared on a floating platform. A golden humanoid flame stood before him and spoke in a cold voice, "Make a pact, give me your soul, and I will spare your life."
He will get his soul now, not after death. Besides, this didn't violate Andrew's agreement with the Ancient One because Magneto was an enemy.
Magneto was momentarily stunned, then asked, "If I give you my soul, won't you be able to take my life at any time?"
"Do you think you have a choice? Sign or don't sign? Make a decision quickly," Andrew sneered. If Magneto didn't sign, he would kill him directly and forcibly claim his soul for hell.
Of course, that would be a bit wasteful. It would be better for Magneto to remain alive, considering that this crisis alone brought tens of thousands of souls to Andrew.
Magneto's face turned black with anger, but he didn't explode in rage because Andrew was right. He had no choice. "Give me the power to kill that kid, and I'll sell my soul to you."
"I'm sorry, even if I lend you my power, you still won't be able to kill him," Andrew said. How could one kill oneself?
"That kid is that strong?"
Magneto was shocked. He gritted his teeth and said, "I can make a pact, but you cannot take my soul for five years."
"Agreed."
Andrew smiled and made a pact with Magneto. Then, he waved his hand, driving Magneto's consciousness out of the illusion.
After Magneto's consciousness returned to his body, the flames in his soul quickly extinguished. However, due to the recent attack, he became weak, so much that he even had trouble standing steadily.
Magneto gritted his teeth, preparing to fight to the death. But just then, a fist struck his head, everything went black before his eyes, and he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
"It's done."
Andrew clapped his hands, quite satisfied with the outcome.
As Magneto fainted, the instruments immediately stopped, the radiation waves quickly dissipated, and the steel spikes and broken tower began to fall.
The onlookers below were dumbfounded. While they knew Magneto wasn't a match for Andrew William, nobody expected him to be defeated so quickly. Indeed, the Ghost Rider was the strongest.
Andrew bent down and grabbed Magneto, jumping to a nearby building. In the next moment, the tower rumbled down, and countless steel shards shot out from the dust. Both the enemy and the ally scrambled to avoid them, causing chaos at the scene.
When the steel shards and dust settled, Andrew took Magneto to the street and threw him to Coulson, saying, "Here's your reward for helping me clean up last time."
Coulson hurriedly caught Magneto, his face filled with astonishment. He never expected that doing a small favor for Andrew William would earn him such a huge reward. After all, Magneto was the most wanted criminal in America.
Coulson said with a flattering smile. "Mr. William, please let me know if you need anything. S.H.I.E.L.D. will be at your service."
Agent Barton couldn't help but turn his head, finding Coulson embarrassing.
Seeing Andrew handing Magneto over to S.H.I.E.L.D., Professor Charles Xavier frowned slightly. It seemed Erik was going to have a tough time, but it was of his own making.
Andrew waved his hand, turned around, and left, with Psylocke hurriedly following behind him.
