Mo Han blinked a few times.
Little Hanhan?!
Was that his new name now?
"You're really not scared?"
An Luxia shrugged, "Why should I be scared? I'm not your victim. Besides, this is technically your job, and I knew about it all along. As long as I'm not involved, why should I be scared?"
Mo Han let out a silent breath of relief and he grinned, "What are you doing here?"
"I came to look for you. It's summer break and I graduated from undergraduate college already. . . I really don't have much to do."
Mo Han thought for a few seconds as he remembered the current situation he was in as he glanced back at his office door, "Why don't you go make me some food? I haven't eaten breakfast yet."
"Huh?" An Luxia tilted her head sideways. Wasn't he supposed to be the domineering male lead in a novel that cooks for the female lead? Why was it the opposite for her?!
"Yes, yes. I'm hungry." Mo Han smiled at her and turned her around, pushing her gently down the hallway.
"What?!"
"Didn't you say you have nothing to do? I like eating the food you make."
An Luxia pursed her lips out as they turned around the corner and Mo Han kissed her quickly on the head before walking back, "Come work in my office with the food. I'll be waiting for you!"
An Luxia walked as he left with a confused and shocked expression.
What?!
---
An hour later, An Luxia made sure to knock before entering Mo Han's office.
This time, there was no one inside except him, who was sitting at his desk and taking a call from his computer. The person on the other end seemed to be talking about something related to business.
An Luxia thought she had come in at the wrong time, but didn't expect for Mo Han to suddenly just say out of nowhere, interrupting the other person:
"Goodbye, my wife is here."
Then, he hung up.
An Luxia blinked a few times and couldn't help but pity whoever was on the other end of the call. Mo Han stood up and walked over with a smile.
"What did you cook?"
"Some porridge. . ."
Mo Han grinned as he looked down at the warm bowl of porridge, "I love porridge."
They sat down on the couch and Mo Han began to eat his breakfast. An Luxia had gotten her laptop on the way over here, and she opened it up to begin writing.
She was currently writing a fantasy romance novel that wasn't very popular, and it only earned her about a hundred dollars each month. However, she didn't really do it for the money so she continued to write.
She wasn't at the point where she had to find a job yet as she had lived with her family up until now. Plus, she was married now and her husband seemed quite capable!
Soon enough, she would have to go out and find a job, but that was a problem for the future
Mo Han quickly finished the large bowl of porridge and also grabbed his laptop, sitting down next to An Luxia as he also began working.
After writing for some time, she became tired and turned to look at Mo Han, "What work do you do? Is it some top secret?"
Mo Han looked up with a smile and shook his head, "There isn't much work for me to do for the HLX, since it isn't active all the time and there are many other workers below me. I mainly take care of the other businesses under the HLX."
An Luxia nodded as she closed her laptop and rested her head onto his broad shoulder, "How powerful are you exactly? I don't think anyone knows about your existence and who you are. . ."
Mo Han liked that his little wife was asking him questions to get to know him better, and he happily responded, "Powerful and rich enough to take care of you for the rest of your life."
An Luxia chuckled and tilted her head slightly to look up at him, "Are you sure? I eat a lot!"
Mo Han grinned as he lifted his arm up, wrapping it around her waist, "It's okay. I can eat less."
An Luxia smiled sweetly, still a little surprised that she was married and this man was already promising to take care of her for the rest of her life! That was a very long time. . . She didn't dare think that far.
"You can continue to do your work. I'll watch you."
Mo Han nodded his head and continued to type on his document. An Luxia did not understand what he was typing about, and as she watched the numbers and letters fly by his screen, she quickly fell asleep.
Mo Han continued to work for some time, trying to make as little noise as possible since his little wifey was asleep on his shoulder.
Almost an hour later, there was a sudden knock on the door, and he immediately knit his eyebrows together with a frown.
He closed his laptop and gently lifted An Luxia's head up, repositioning it onto his legs.
"Come in. Who is it?"
The door clicked open and he immediately looked back angrily to see that it was K.
"Be quiet!" He said in a hushed voice.
K immediately noticed the sleeping figure on Mo Han's lap, and he gulped before whispering, "Mr. Gu and Mr. Qin are waiting for you in the living room."
Mo Han took one last look at the little cat in deep sleep on his lap before he slowly lifted her head up again and stood up. Then, he grabbed a pillow and gently placed her head onto it.
Before leaving, he bent down to quickly kiss her before walking out the room.
"Go get her a blanket," he commanded K as the door closed.
He entered the living room, where two men were seated on the couch, casually drinking tea.
When they saw him, they simultaneously stood up.
"What are you two doing here?" Mo Han asked in an annoyed tone, still unhappy about the "naptime" with his little kitten being interrupted.
Gu Yechen and Qin Wei glanced at each other before Qin Wei smiled a little awkwardly, "Of course we are here to take a look at our new sister-in-law!"
--- Author's Note:
Yes, yes, yes! Gu Yechen is the Gu Yechen you are thinking of! If you read my other novel, 'Reborn To Love', then you will know who I am talking about! Hehehe I love doing these small connections between novels ^o^ I find it interesting hehehe :)
And quick note! Sister-in-law isn't actually "sister-in-law". They are not brothers. It is just that in China, the same term is used if the guys are friends, so it is like "sister-in-law" as the wife of a friend.
Love you and have a great day <3
