CHAPTER 42
In Mary’s gardens that skirted the old cottage, Catherine fiddled with the cleaned dagger as she sat on a cold stone slab and gazed up the path leading to the open land where the ruins stood. Beyond that, the faerie realm waited for her. She needed a plan. Running back into the forest without clear knowledge of where Danny and Bella were would result in getting lost or captured again. Plus, what was she going to do once she found them? Run back home and have the fae follow her? No, she had to figure out a way to prevent the fae from ever getting to her again. Otherwise, all of this was for nothing. Even if Cadeyrn could stop the war, based on what she’d seen in Judicaël’s personality, she wasn’t so sure her rejection of him or destroying a fae castle changed or quieted his desire for her.
I’ll tear down your realm.
