Ellie
The day was finally here. Ellie had been looking forward to this day almost as long as she’d been looking forward to her own wedding before it had taken place. Now, after what seemed like decades of planning–though it had really only been a few months over a year–it was finally time for Shelby and Carl to get married.
Shelby looked radiant. Ellie couldn’t help but smile at her best friend as the two of them got ready in the small room in the chapel. Shelby had asked several other girls from high school to be her bridesmaids, but the room was so small, they’d had to get ready elsewhere. It was only Ellie, Shelby’s mom, Unice, and the flower girl, Shelby’s cousin’s daughter, Gracie, who was four. While Shelby’s mother was wiping away her tears, Shelby didn’t look sad at all. No, if Ellie had to choose one word to describe her best friend, it would have to be triumphant. She looked like she had finally conquered the world.
