She felt the heat on her face and knew immediately that the curtains in her room had been opened to reflect light on her face through the glass windows.

She had been awake for the last few minutes but she felt too tired to sit up after the restless night she'd had.

" Rissa, the sun is up. I think it's time you wake up. " Leonard said, amused by her.

She grunted and pushed the cover off her face. " I was unable to sleep well last night. "

" I presumed so," he said leaning on the wall. " What was on your mind? "

She thought of what she had done the night before and how she had almost gotten killed. She was sure Leonard wouldn't be too happy about her rash action. So she lied. " I was just thinking about father. Yesterday was the full moon. The dark witches will have arrived in Haven's Peak. I have no way of knowing if they are fine. "
