Capítulo 18: Self detonation!
"Haha kid, you really have balls to swim in the waters of my den." - Bai Gu Jing's voice rang out from the Immortal Devil Sect's medallion, apparently he was having fun watching Ximen Wei swim through the bloody waters and getting chased.
Unfortunately for Bai Gu Jing, Ximen Wei was not having it, without any respect whatsoever, he said.
"Shut the fuck up you old fossil, if you have the energy to talk, then help me the fuck out!"
Bai Gu Jing was once again shocked, he laughed like never before.
"Hahaha, you really have balls. I'll try to see what I can."
Meanwhile, the Song Family Young Master was chasing behind, he was a Level 2 Qi Trainee, and his speed was faster than Ximen Wei by leaps and bounds, if Ximen Wei did nothing, he would definitely catch up.
He kept getting closer and closer, eyes red, the young master summoned the bronze lantern and his hands flashed in a complex, incantation gesture that took him couple seconds to get off.
"Beacon of Light, Azure Cage! Seal Space, Seal Time, Seal Heaven and Earth!"
"Qi Technique - Azure Seals!!"
The light in the bronze lantern turned azure blue, and emanated a terrifying aura that made Ximen Wei's mind go numb. Instantly, azure light shone everywhere as azure chains shot out from the bronze lantern, heading for none other than Ximen Wei at unfathomable speeds, when the azure chains were in the air, they expanded boundlessly, encompassing a 20 meters area and making it impossible for Ximen Wei to escape.
This was a Qi Technique boosted by the Qi Artifact of the Song Family, so despite the red-haired young man being only a Level 2 Qi Trainee, he managed to pull off a Qi Technique comparable to a Level 3 attack!
Wherever the azure chains went, Heaven shook and Earth rumbled, a wild aura that seemed to overpower nature raged wildly as the azure chains kept expanding and expanding, eventually encompassing a 30 meters area!
When Ximen Wei saw the azure chains getting closer and closer to him, his face fell. He had no way of escaping this!
His qi reserves were already low, and forcing another Qi Technique will drain him of energy, and even if he casted all the Qi Techniques in his reserves, he was sure he would not escape this attack. He looked at the medallion ins his pocket and yelled out.
"Bai Gu Jing! If you're not going to act now, then when will you act??"
A sigh rang out.
"Fine fine, but don't ever talk to me like that kid! If it were not for Karma I would've killed you already."
Then, a beam of light shot from Ximen Wei's pocket towards the azure chain, breaking it into countless pieces that fell down into the swamp's bloody waters. When Ximen Wei saw that, he breathed a sigh of relief and at the same time, thought about how powerful this Bai Gu Jing person to be able to destroy an attack comparable to a Level 3 Qi Technique in terms of power.
"Haha, I'm great aren't I? Back in my prime I was one of the most powerful people under the Heavens, how could a trifling Level 3 Qi Technique stand in my way?" - Boasted Bai Gu Jing, he really seemed happy about destroying the attack.
However, the Song Family Young Master was not happy at all. In fact, his expression turned ugly and wary. Azure Seals was a signature technique of the Song Family, it was used to seal and emprison powerful experts of Heaven and Earth, let alone a meagre Level 1 Qi Trainee, who was not even 11 years old.
He stopped in place before resuming the chase again, he saw how the attack that broke his technique came from Ximen Wei's pocket, and he caught a glimpse of the medallion that lay there.
He assumed that Ximen Wei had a Qi Artifact like him, and he bet that he can only use it once without paying a heavy price. After all, even he had to pay a price to unleash Azure Seals.
When the young master resumed the chase, Dongfang zoomed past him, apparently he used a Qi Technique to gain a momentarily boost of speed. He was so fast that he caught up to Ximen Wei, who was swimming, in the time it takes someone to blink.
When he caught up, he pushed his hands forward as he unleashed yet again another Qi Technique.
"Qi Technique - Azure Hand!"
Unfortunately, since the technique was unleashed by a Level 1 Qi Trainee this time, it was not as powerful as when the red-haired young master unleashed it.
The azure hand was even more illustory than it's former one, and it wasn't even as big as a human, it was only 1 meters long. And it's power was even weaker yet it was sent rumbling towards Ximen Wei, intent on severly injuring him.
Thankfully for Ximen Wei, despite the suddenness of the attack, the effects of Dash Action were still there, so he dodged the attack, only by a hair.
The attack zoomed past him, landing on the depths of the swamp waters, where a crater could now be seen in the place it landed.
"Slippery bastard, get back here!"
Dongfang coughed up a mouthful of blood as he waved his hands, unleashing another Qi Technique. Apparently he was even willing to go as far as to injure himself to catch his opponent.
According to his young master, this kid had a cultivation treasure in his pockets, and he judged that he had a Qi Artifact since he saw the beam of light from earlier.
Even the entirety of the Song Family had one, and only one Qi Artifact despite the wealth they accumulated over their generations. If given the option, even their Patriarch, a Rank 1 Qi Expert, will chase this kid just for his treasures.
Their eyes shone with greed and wary as they chased him madly. Dongfang pushed his index finger forward, blood in the corners of mouth, and yelled out.
"Qi Technique - Azure Finger!"
This was a pure offensive Qi Technique intended for killing! On the other hand, Azure Hand was a versatile Qi Technique, it could be used to grab things or slam into things. It had many uses and people mostly use it to grab onto their opponents, immobilizing them.
A gigantic index finger appeared in the air, it was three meters long as it was sent rumbling forward towards Ximen Wei, leaving behind only destruction.
The Azure Finger was like a spear, piercing through the air at unbelievable speeds towards Ximen Wei.
Unfortunately for Ximen Wei, he couldn't dodge this attack because it was too fast. His bloody figure jumped from the swamp waters, making human parts and intestines rain everywhere.
His eyes shone with a determined light, and his hands quickly flashed in an incantation gesture, exciting the Qi in the area and making it converge around him.
"Qi Technique - Iron Body!"
Qi of all sorts converged around his body before entering through all his pores, making his skin as tough as metal, impervious to arrows and spears. Yet he was not done!
"Qi Technique - Strengthen!"
Power and lifeforce surged through every vein in Ximen Wei's body, making him brim with vitality and power, he felt as if he can crush down stones with his bare petite hands with extreme ease.
He looked towards the incoming attack as he inhaled deeply, he was planning to take the Azure Finger head-on!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!
Blood spurted everywhere as Ximen Wei was sent flying away like a kite, a hole could be seen in his shoulder where the attack landed. Yet that was not only it, harmful Qi entered Ximen Wei's body as it wreaked havoc inside him. Sending his mind reeling and making blood pour from his eyes, nose, ears and mouth.
Despite that, Ximen Wei smiled as the force of the attack propelled him towards the shore.
Finally he was out of the Devil's Den!
When he landed on the shores, he coughed a mouthful of blood before getting up to his feet, and resumed running once again. His speed did not lessen in the least and in fact, to Dongfang and the young master, he seemed even faster despite the injuries he incurred.
Soon, the young master's voice rang out, filled with rage and madness.
"DONGFANG, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?"
He was mad because Dongfang, despite seriously injuring the little kid, propelled him to the shore. Finally, he decided to hold nothing back as the terrifying udulations of a Level 2 Qi Trainee exploded out.
Eyes reddened, he yelled out.
"Qi Technique - Azure Steps!"
Then, despite the young man being a good 20 minutes away from the shores of the swamp, he took three steps forward, and landed in the shores, only a couple meters away from the now running Ximen Wei.
And he was not done yet, he took another step forward, landing exactly in front of Ximen Wei.
This was the terrifying aspect of Level 2 Qi Trainee! They were vastly, far more powerful than your ordinary Level 1 Qi Trainee, and when they unleash their Qi Technique, they shake Heaven and Earth, defy nature and boggle minds.
Despite his pale face, the young master smirked as he unleashed a palm strike powered by his immense physical strength, his target was none other than the blood-covered figure in front of him, Ximen Wei!
However, before the palm strike could hit him, Bai Gu Jing's voice rang out, this time it seemed disheartened and even disappointed.
"Kid, I stepped up last time because the previous attack was something you can't handle.. However, you're now up against a piddling Level 2 Qi Trainee, don't tell me you can't handle that either?"
Bai Gu Jing emerged from the Immortal Devil Sect medallion, when he did so, time seemed as if stopped. Only Ximen Wei and Bai Gu Jing were able to move. The red-haired young man, Dongfang and everything else were as immobile as statues.
"Back when I was at your level, I was able to easily crush Level 2 Qi Trainees, and even toy with Level 3 Qi Trainees. When I became a Level 2 Qi Trainee, I fought it out with a Rank 1 Qi Expert evenly... although you're young, and didn't even cultivate for a month, your battle prowess is laughable."
Bai Gu Jing sighed as he looked towards Ximen Wei with pity.
"Maybe you're not destined for the League of the Devils."
When Ximen Wei heard that, his eyes reddened as he stared venomous towards the White Devil, he wanted to say something but found out that couldn't speak no matter how hard he tried.
"You didn't even open nine Extraordinary Meridians when you reached the first Level, I don't know why they picked you but well, I have to comply with their wishes, his wishes."
"Hmm.. How about this, if you don't reach the third level within' three months worth of time, I'll personally kill you with my own hands. I don't care if I have to incur their wrath but, I have to do what's best for me.. For my true self..."
Bai Gu Jing waved his hand and the Song Family Young Master transformed into ashes alongside the bronze lantern in his hand. He stared off into the distance towards Dongfang, a brilliant idea came up in his mind.
"Oh great, I've just thought of this!"
"You and this guy will have a fight to death, right here right now.. However, you will only be able to wield 10% of your cultivation base power. How about this, I'll help you out a little."
He pointed his finger towards Ximen Wei, sending a warm current of power towards him, healing all his injuries and at the same time, limiting his cultivation base to only about 10%.
"Awesome, now I'll return back to the medallion and observe, you'll have three days to kill him or else you won't be worthy of my legacy."
Said Bai Gu Jing before transforming into a beam of light that merged with the medallion.
When he entered the medallion, time resumed but, what lay in the former place of the Song Family Young Master was nothing but drifting ash.
When Dongfang saw his young master getting turn into ash, his face paled with pure terror.
He stopped in place as he looked towards Ximen Wei with fear, however, when he noticed his cultivation base drop only to about 10% of it's former self, he realized that, although Ximen Wei used the Qi Artifact to kill his young master, he had to pay a heavy price for that!
He thought that Ximen Wei sacrificed 90% of his cultivation base to use the Qi Artifact, that gave Dongfang some confidence. Yet, he was as wary as ever.
He grabbed his sword as he wearily made his way towards Ximen Wei, unfortunately for Ximen Wei tho, he wasn't as fast as he used to be before, in fact, he was a bit faster than a mortal, although the difference was miniscule.
When Dongfang got closer to Ximen Wei, he slashed down his sword viciously towards him, intent on ending this child's life!
Sweat trickled down Ximen Wei's forehead as he realized that he was in a tricky situation, he immediately went ahead and grabbed the red-haired young man's sword from the pile of ash in front him.
He turned around and blocked the incoming attack.
CLING!!!
The sword was knocked off Ximen Wei's hands, the intense reverberations from the impact sent his entire body reeling. Blood flew down from the palm of his hands as he looked towards Dongfang helplessly.
When Dongfang saw what was happening, he chuckled mocklingly.
"Not so tough now, huh? Without your Qi Artifact, you're nothing but a helpless chicken waiting to be slaughtered!"
Without any mercy, Dongfang slashed his swords towards the little boy on the ground. Since Ximen Wei lost almost 90% of his cultivation base, he was not wary towards any unexpected Qi Techniques or attacks fueled by Qi. So he just slashed his sword, using only his physical strength, although it was strong enough to kill a mortal in one slice, it can still be dodged or blocked by a mortal.
When Ximen Wei saw the ruthlessness of Dongfang, he realized that acting to garner pity would not work. So he rolled to the side, barely dodging the attack.
It brushed past his shoulders, cutting a clean chunk of flesh which was so painful that made Ximen Wei almost scream. Even the gash in his back he suffered when he was escaping the dungeon was not as painful as this.
"I can't handle a fucking kid now, can't I?"
Dongfang went ahead and grabbed ahold of Ximen Wei from his hair, he pulled him up and stared at him for a while. He fetched his clothes, grabbing ahold of the Qi Scroll, the Earth grade Qi Condensation Manual and the Immortal Devil Sect Medallion.
His eyes shone with greed as he realized that Ximen Wei had far too many precious things on him!
"Tell your daddy Dongfang from where you got this stuff, else I will flay you alive!"
Ximen Wei was cursing madly under his breath, he cursed everything, he was cursing the world, he was cursing the Green Lotus City, he was cursing the Song Family, he was cursing Dongfang and he was cursing Bai Gu Jing!
When Bai Gu Jing blocked the attacks thrown at him, he relieved a sigh of relief because he thought he got himself a protector. But unexpectedly, this very protector, although saved his life once again, managed to screw him up!
Ximen Wei looked at Dongfang venomously, eyes red, he grabbed the hand that held him from his hair and bit viciously, taking with him a big chunk of flesh.
Dongfang screamed in pain as he let Ximen Wei off, he looked at him with deep hatred as he kicked him with his feet, sending him flying towards a tree.
"Fucking son of a bitch, how dare you bite me like a ravage dog with that dirty mouth of yours?"
This time, Dongfang threw a punch towards Ximen Wei, it was fueled with Qi and was almost comparable in terms of power to a Level 1 Qi Technique! However, Ximen Wei was unyielding.
He mustered the tiny amount of cultivation base he had and materalized it in front of him. Six majestic Extraordinary Meridians could be seen in the materalization of his cultivation base, and if one paid enough close attention, he can see the faint outlines of a seventh Extraordinary Meridian.
He sent his cultivation base shooting towards Dongfang's punch, emitting the fluctuations of an imminent self-detonation.
He was detonating his cultivation base and his Extraordinary Meridians in order to kill his opponent!
Bai Gu Jing's eyes widened as he realized what was happening, he tried to stop it but it was too late! It happened abruptly without any notice.
Dongfang shrieked as he tried to make some distance, but it was already too late.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
An explosion that shook Heaven and Earth rang out, as an incredible wave of heat blasted across Dongfang's face, literally flaying him alive. Then, an unstoppable force slammed into his body, shredding it into tiny pieces that flew around all the over place.
And finally, a Qi tempest sprang out due the self-detonation, which ravaged around the place, killing Dongfang in body and spirit.
Even Bai Gu Jing did not expect Ximen Wei to be this ruthless, he smiled bitterly as he realized that he may have pushed things too far. He didn't know Ximen Wei's desire to survive, or more specifically, to return back to his old world, was this strong!
Unfortunately for Ximen Wei, he was seriously seriously injured, in fact, his injuries were so severe he was hovering between life and death.
His body was badly mangled as bones protruded out from his flesh and skin, his insides and intestines were for all to see, laid bare in the ground. His muscles were viciously ripped from the power of his self-detonation and holes were all over his body, they were the former places where his Extraordinary Meridians used to be!
Bai Gu Jing looked at Ximen Wei with complex emotions, although he was the ancient White Devil, who slaughtered millions of innocents and cultivators, he never saw someone as ruthless as Ximen Wei. His personality was perfect for a cultivator of the League of the Devils, and thanks to that, his potential was limitless, however his latent talent, despite being great and rare in the outside world, Bai Gu Jing did not think much of it, and in fact, felt it to be lacking greatly.
He waved his hands, collecting what remained of Ximen Wei's body, then he looked at the bronze lantern and decided to use it to remould his body and heal his injuries.
