Capítulo 16: 16: Victory is ours
Kel sends for a doctor to tend to Mable's wounds. Salma gets worried and she reprimands Mable, " why didn't you just do what he asked you to do? now look at what he has done to you child"
Mable tells her mother why she didn't do as she was asked," mom,I stand for justice not crime,I won't kill my people because an enemy asked me to, I want to promote peace an respect for women"
Kel feels sad so he leaves and goes to his room.
Mira comes into the room and tells Mable an idea she came up with," I have an idea on how to end this feud,we can look for the man who shot Kel's uncle"
In confusion, Mable teases Mira, " are you nuts? you expect me to walk to a murderer and ask him to come home with me, you are not OK"
Mira gets angry at Mable for not understanding the plan, "you are crazy not me! you were supposed to ask me to explain in details but you start criticizing me instead,now listen to the plan, I will talk to uncle Riswan about the event that happened in the past we can try to trace the killer,we will abduct him and force him to confess the truth"
Mable is amazed by the plan," oh my goodness I must say,you are a good detective, you didn't go to college for nothing best friend I love you"
Mable and Mira hug each other and go to bed. Early in the morning, Mira talks to Riswan and he gives her the details of the man. She signals Mable and they start to leave but they bump into Kel at the door who starts to question them," where are the both of you going so early in the morning?"
Mira starts to stammer but Mable interferes and tells a lie,"we are going to visit Mira's granny she has not been feeling good for the past two days now right Mira?"
Mira answers to back the lie her friend just told, " yes she's right but don't worry we'll be back before night time"
Kel sees that Mira is sweating, "why are you sweating so much,let me come along with you guys"
Mable notices how scared Mira is and steps in, "why are you questioning her so much,she is just so stressed about her mother's health,now we have to leave and you can't come with we'll handle it,come let's go Mira we are running late"
Mable takes Mira by the hand and they leave. The friends reach the village and search for the murderer by the name of Angraj, they finally find his house and they knock at the door, Angraj himself opens the door and the girls pretend to be beggars, they are welcomed inside. Angraj goes to his room to get some money and when he comes back, he finds his daughter and wife held at gunpoint. He tries to take out his gun but Ishan holds him and he is abducted leaving is wife and child behind. The team take Angraj with them and ties him up in a secret store room and knock him unconscious. Mira confronts Mable and asks her why she his everything from Kel," you see my friend I hate to tell lies especially to the ones close to my heart. Kel will take this man to his father and make him confess the truth but I don't want that,no"
Both Ishan and Mira are puzzled by these words. Ishan asks Mable what he means," but what do you mean madam? don't you want to liberate your people, and if this man confesses, Mark will hand over the village to you"
Mable starts to laugh before she gives her reply,"I am new a weak leader I don't quite without a fight, handing this man over is a small victory, Mark took the village from me through war so I will take it back with war. Ishan? go and tell the warriors to get ready at dawn, victory is ours"
Ishan informs the warriors and they start to prepare themselves. They go to the battle field, Mable sends a certain villager to call Mark and his men. Mark underestimates,Mable and her men and presumes this second war will be easy like the first one but he got it all wrong. The war starts and Mark seems to be too weak, after hours of fighting,Mable and her men win the war. Hearing of Marks defeat, Mr Asim takes his family and runs away. Mark acknowledges Mable and he bows at her feet and begs her to spare him. Mable smirks and she lifts Mark off the ground, "if I wanted I would kill you but you are someone's father get up"
Mable tells Ishan to tie Mark up and take him into slavery for two whole weeks,after which they will go and search for Asim and bring him out wherever he is.
