"So... It was a test?" A slightly confused but very relieved Enychta asked as Persephone tightly hugged her son, pressing his head against her chest, successfully locking him in such a tight hug that made Enychta jealous of her, she was, after all, hugging Pruno, and even though they were son and mother, he still felt like Pruno was being stolen from him.
"Exactly. I wanted to see if you were determined enough to defend my son with your life, going against even the Gods themselves too." Persephone declared proudly as Hades grabbed her hand, slowly but surely parting her from her son, releasing the poor boy from the death grip she had him in. Eny instantly pulled Pruno close to, close enough to be touching his body but not close enough to suffocate him. "Are you okay...?" Enychta whispered on Pruno's ear, making him blush slightly by the heat he felt from his ear and nod shyly.
"And you?" He quickly turned and felt Luke's hold on his arms get tighter as he looked at his father, the God of many things, Hermes. Luke just shook his head, making Enychta instantly understand what he meant with that, pulling him away from Hermes's view and using his body to hide Luke behind him to bring a little bit of comfort for the boy. "Better now?" His voice was barely a whisper as his head lowered, his neck slithering like a snake as he lowered his to whisper on Luke's ear. Luke nodded as he whispered back a "Thank you" while giving him a quick peck on the lips. Enychta responded by smiling at him and kissing his forehead.
"So... I know why both Persephone is here for, and I can imagine why Hades followed her, I understand it completely, but why are you here mother?" Enychta didn't relax completely, he couldn't trust them, mostly because they were Gods and Gods are unpredictable. One moment they will want to kill you and on the other, they want to eat your ass... Nyx smiled lightly towards Enychta, she flickered from existence for a second, and like in the blink of an eye, she appeared before Enychta with her hand touching his cheek. Enychta's whole body tensed and he was about to attack until he noticed that it was only his mother, but he still didn't relax. "You are so beautiful, my son... I wish I could have seen you before, well, we met sometimes through dreams but personally is completely different. Isn't that right? Persephone..."
Persephone already had her son within her arms, holding him like a baby, which made Pruno slightly embarrassed. It happened suddenly, for a second he was beside Enychta and on the other, he was within the arms of his mother. Hearing what Nyx said, Enychta turned to look at Persephone and Pruno, who both had a very suspicious expression on their faces as they away from Enychta and Nyx, looking at the beautiful green sky of the Underworld while whistling.
Eny sighed before he shook his head and continued to speak to his mother: "I've come to take the Veil of the Night, mother." Nyx placed her hand on her chest dramatically, the other hand In her forehead as she very, very dramatically turned away from Enychta saying: "Oh, how cold and cruel! Seeing his mother for the first time and yet acting like she is but a stranger! Oh!" Thick marks appeared on Enychta's forehead as his patience was growing weaker, he placed his hand on his forehead as he facepalmed, clearly uncomfortable with this situation. "Oh well, can't say I'm not at fault." Doing a whole 180°, Nyx returned from her exaggerated drama to her careless and slightly cold personality.
Changing faster than the phases of the moon.
"Here it is." Suddenly, she pulled her hair, but what she took out was not what Enychta thought. She was not pulling her hair, but a ribbon on her hair, which started to grow bigger and bigger until it could be used to cover Enychta's whole body. "Here~" With a slightly teasing tone, Nyx gave the Veil of the Night to Enychta...
It was a purple veil, slightly transparent and see-through, with several tiny white, yellow, blue, red, green, and light orange dots all spread on the entirety of the veil, which was twinkling like Dumbledore's eyes when he sees a minor near him.
"Hm." Eny hummed before he grabbed the Veil, which instantly shrank into the size of a small ribbon when it was on his hand. He quickly placed it on the bag he had, the one that was a lot of space inside. "Okay, I guess we're done here-" Enychta was going to call Pruno and Luke to get them out of the Underworld, however, he soon saw Pruno talking to his mother happily while Luke was talking to Hermes, clearly uncomfortable and slightly angry at him. Suddenly Hermes's eyes darted towards Enychta, he looked at him with surprise and wonder before it turned into a hardened facial expression, like a father that just learned that his child was being taken away from him... Well, it was never his child, to begin with.
Luke walked away from Hermes, little tears falling from his eyes, making Enychta freeze. His eyes looked towards the hurt Hermes that instantly looked at him when he felt hostility emerging from Enychta like a tsunami, hitting everything around. In an instant he was beside Luke, hugging him close to him in a tight hug, kissing away the tears. He whispered in Luke's ear: "Do you want me to fight him? I'll do it, do you want me to get revenge for you? I'll do it. Just tell me what you want me to do, and I'll do it... Whatever it is." Luke just shook his head while turning to Hermes and saying out loud: "I don't care... You knew about my fate and yet never tried to change it, however, Eny did try and did change it, now you want to be my father? Where were you when I was scared shitless, praying for help from the Gods so my mother wouldn't kill me?"
His tears started to flow a little more.
"Where were you, when I was 7 years old and broke my arm trying to hold a door while my mother tried to break it with a hammer? Where were you when i broke three fingers trying to get out of the basement, where she had trapped me in? Where were you, when I was dying, bleeding out on the floor, after running from home for the first time and being attacked by monsters? Nowhere! Them! They were there for me! Astérie Enychta and Pruno Begoni... The two loves of my life. You have no right to call yourself my father, and I have no wish to call myself your son because i didn't want to be. If I could take out this cursed Godly blood from my veins, right here and now, and give it to you... I would without hesitation." His words grew heavier and heavier, making his voice get louder and louder until his last sentence was barely a whisper.
"I am tired..." Luke whispered to Enychta, who quickly supported his body, taking him in a princess hold and used his [Unique Skill] Thread Works to make a silk blanket and cover him with it, so he may sleep in his arms comfortably. "Good night my love." Pruno, who managed to get free from his mother's hold, came to Eny and helped him clean Luke's tears with his own hands, they hugged the poor boy, who looked so weak and small right now... Enychta quickly turned his eyes towards Hermes, eyes locked with him, and seriously said: "I guess we had enough Gods today... You may leave, Hermes." Without looking back at him, Enychta took hold of Luke's sleeping body and carried him, ready to leave the Underworld.
"Wait, my dear, you just arrived... Please don't leave so soon." Persephone came forward and took Pruno's hands, looking at him in the eyes, and giggled at his bashful expression: "We have your room prepared. We can arrange rooms for them too, won't you please stay a little more?" Pruno looked at Enychta, who sighed for a second before nodding, he felt like it would be best to rest now, Luke also wouldn't be comfortable moving around while sleeping, he could also wake up in the process. Persephone smiled brightly before taking Pruno's hand and dragging the boy excitedly towards Hades, who looked at Enychta carrying Luke with tender care and love and for the first time since he met them, smiled. The care and love between the three remind him of his younger self when he fell in love with Persephone...
They spent the night (day?) on the House of Hades, resting for the next part of the long journey...
The Journey to the West! Well, in this case, east... Because Egypt?

Author Note: I like Hermes, but I also at the same time don't like him.
