The next day, the Master Strategist caught Mattheus and made the twenty-one-year-old sit through tutoring as an heir. He was pretty sure this was his distant cousin getting even with him for pulling a fast one and making the older man miss the meeting with the Hierophant when they had their little powwow. 

It had to be a punishment.

While it was probably necessary to learn the family history of the Tellus bloodline for his inevitable inheritance, there was no way Mattheus could be convinced he had to learn it now. Neither did he think it was necessary for him to sit through an in-person tutoring session with Andreas for this particular topic.
