"If not for the situation of your life being threatened, I already declared in my heart that I would leave from here tomorrow." Her tone did not waver, and as clearly as her words had resounded in his ears, Briceus felt a growing pang weave a feel of guilt into his heart. 

So he settled his eyes on her reflection and noticed how her brilliant mood had dampened and how her face had dropped low. His chest tightened up all the more from seeing her like this.
