"You are soooo cute together!" Miku started squirming around, tugging on Akio's sleeve.

"Look at how good they are together Darling!" She continued.

Akio was giving Kurai thumbs up while nodding with a smile, in fact Miku caught everybody's attention and they were all looking at the chocolate-toned kids holding hands.

Their reactions, contrary to Rumi's expectations, were very warm, they were all laughing or smiling kindly like Akio.

Coming out of her bewilderment, she started realising, 'Maybe there are good people too?'

Then, noticing the predicament she was in, she hastily took out her hands from Kura's shameless claws, glaring at him for putting her in this situation. "Humph."

The latter was simply grinning at her, "Come I'll introduce you!" He signaled to Rumi with his head.

"Here, Mom, Pops, this is my friend Rumi, she's a cute bunny girl!"

Rumi blushed hearing this kind of introduction, so she directly bowed, "Hello! Nice to meet you! I'm Rumi Usagiyama!" Without forgetting to hit Kurai with her elbow.

Akio was constantly wiggling his eyebrows at his son, even though Kurai was straight out ignoring him. Meanwhile Miku's motherly instincts were blooming at an impressive rate.

She gently put her hand on the top of Rumi's head, between her long fluffy ears and slowly caressed it, "Don't be so nervous, Rumi-chan! You're our son's first friend and I'm really grateful for that or else he would have remained a shut-in reading books all day, fufu!"

"It's not like that Mom…"

And just when Miku was about to engage in a talk with him…

"Umm… are you really his parents?"

Rumi meekly asked a question, she knew that she might be overstepping her boundaries and asking for sensible information, but she needed to know.

After all, Kurai's parents were white skinned like her mom.

The trio laughed, and Akio intervened first, "Yes, he is our son, but we adopted him a few years back, hence the differences."

Rumi made an '0' shaped mouth and looked back at her smiling friend. His situation was totally different from hers!

Suddenly the speakers of the hospital made a call, "The first group coming to see Ms. Hado can go in, the delivery was a success."

The people in the waiting room applauded joyfully, and the first group, Ayaka's family and husband, entered.

The other group, Kurai's family and Rumi, were waiting on the hospital's seats.

Miku was eagerly waiting for their turn but she had a distraction, namely the little rabbit girl in front of her. The girls were both talking together, Miku slowly helping Rumi get rid of her nervousness and the guys too, were talking…

"Are you winning, son?" Akio asked seriously.

"Huh?" Kurai didn't really understand the question or why it was brought up, 'He never really took interest in my fights but sure…' He dismissively stopped thinking.

"Yeah, of course I'm winning." Kurai then completed, 'I never lost a fight yet.'

Akio, though, opened his eyes wide, "My son's slowly becoming a man!" He wiped an imaginary tear.

Kurai was weirded out by his father, "Huh… Sure, anyway, so… I gotta talk to you and mom privately after this."

Hearing his tone Akio stopped playing around and nodded.

Contrary to the guys' discussion, Miku's and Rumi's was more 'normal'.

"So, Rumi-chan, what do you think about Rai-kun?"

Now that Miku helped Rumi relax, she slowly got her bearings back.

"Rai-kun? Ahaha!" She glanced at him.

'Yikes, Mom you didn't need to call me that in front of her…' He forced a smile at Rumi open mockery, it seemed to him like the little rabbit found a way to take revenge after her numerous losses.

"He's shameless, no! He's a shameless attention-grabber! He's always playing weird jokes and mocking me!" Now that she was relaxed, forgetting all her nervousness, her straightforwardness came up directly.

Then she noticed to whom she told that, his parents!

Blushing, she added, "But he's strong! Very strong! That's why he's my friend, my first friend too." She tried to defend.

The parents both laughed, they were very open-minded, and it's not like they didn't know how their son acts. So, they didn't mind in the slightest, but…

"You said strong? How do you know, ahah?" Miku asked.

"Um? Well he always beats me every time we fight, without holding back, just like I—…" Rumi stopped talking, noticing the couple.

The couple was actually laughing when she spoke, but the more they heard her talk, the faster they lost their smiles. Until their expressions turned grave, and both were glaring at Kurai.

If their gazes could burn then the temperature would already be over 9000, it was as if they were telling Kurai 'why did you hit such a cute bunny girl?'.

Rumi didn't understand what happened, she was legitimately praising him… So, seeing him hurriedly deny it with his hands confused her.

Just then the speakers rang again to signal that the next group should go and visit Ms. Hado.

"You're saved for now, young man, you'll see later." Miku said sternly before wearing a bright smile after entering the operating room.

Akio did the same, without forgetting to send a disapproving look to his son. "I'm not angry, just disappointed."

*Sigh*

Kurai sighed at this misunderstanding. "Come on Rumi, let's enter." Just when they were about to push the door…

"Kyaaa?! Oi, why did you do that?!" Kurai bonked Rumi's head.

"Sometimes you talk too much, that's why." Smirking, he entered.

There, they could see Ayaka laying on the bed thanks to her distinctive blue hair, next to her was her husband holding a cute baby.

Mr. Hado was a relatively handsome man wearing a mustache with silver hair and blue eyes, which appeared as some very striking features to Kurai.

Mr. Hado beckoned both of them to come closer, while holding a finger in front of his mouth, most probably to signal them to remain as silent as possible. The baby seemed to be asleep.

They approached the baby along with Kurai's parents.

"Shankusu-san did you decide on a name for the baby?" Asked Miku. [1]

While Rumi was looking at the baby with a gaze full of wonder, Shankusu glanced at his sleeping wife, Ayaka Hado. Who was too tired after the delivery to remain awake, as she was currently resting.

"Yes, we had decided to call our baby Nejire if she was a girl!" He lovingly caressed his wife's hand.

He then slowly put Nejire in his sleeping wife's bosom, and Ayaka instinctively hugged the baby.

With only one strand of blue hair growing out of her head, Nejire looked very cute, it could be seen how cute the scene was just by looking at the faces of the people in the room. [2]

Even Kurai found this scene very cute. 'Not cuter than my lil' rabbit.'

The rest of the visit was pretty calm, they couldn't talk and only whispered as to not wake up the mother and newborn daughter, so they all got out.

After a while Shankusu had to go back to his wife, leaving the family and Rumi alone.

"Anyway, now that we left our gifts in her room we can go home!" Akio declared stretching his limbs.

They started going to their limousine where Kunishe was awaiting them, but just before entering Kurai nodded his head at Akio.

"Rumi, can you go in the car already and wait for us? We forgot something in the hospital." Kurai told his bunny-eared friend, pointing at his parents who smiled apologetically.

"Um? Can't I come with y'all too?" Rumi tilted her head.

"Didn't you want to finish that cooking anime though?" He said, opening the car's door instead of letting Kunishe do it.

"Oooh you're right!" She was all hyped up.

She continued, "I don't understand why you don't like it, they're airing the last season!"

"Yeah, yeah, I already know how to cook, see you in a few mins…" He closed her door.

Turning back, he walked with his parents further until they reached an isolated alley.

Kurai then started with a grave tone, "So, I wanted to…"

****

Once again opening the door of the car Kurai could hear Rumi's hearty laughs, only a few minutes passed and the bunny girl was already immersed in her anime.

When everybody was in the car, Akio signaled Kunishe to start the engine, direction Hiroshima to drop the children at their homes.

The ride was smooth all in all, with Rumi and Kurai usual banters, or when the little rabbit was too much into her anime Kurai profited to catch up things with his parents.

Finally after a good hour they reached the prefecture of Hiroshima.

It was already past 11 pm when they first reached Rumi's house, "Here little Miss." As always Kunishe was already out to open the door for Rumi.

She smiled at him, and took her things to go out.

"Goodbye Rumi-chan, it was nice meeting you!" Miku winked at the leaving rabbit girl.

Akio waved at her too, while Kurai actually followed her out to walk her to the door, at least.

Rumi was actually surprised to see him walking her out. "Tsk, you didn't need to! I'm not that weak y'know!" She said with a smile, even though she tried to sound angry at him.

"I know, I know, I'm just fulfilling my part of the deal to your mother." He said while looking at a black tinted window.

Rumi followed his gaze, but she didn't see anything. Well, obviously she didn't have his expertise.

"Do whatever you want then!" She snickered.

The rest of their short walk was silent, but the atmosphere around them was heartwarming.

They both finally reached the doormat, and just when Rumi was about to touch the handle she turned back at him wanting to say something.

But Kurai got ahead of her, "I know it's late and it impedes your beauty sleep but still, good night Rumi-chan~"

He started patting her head, as some sort of thank you to her for accompanying him, even if she didn't need to.

Without her today, he would've been sure to get bored with his parents.

Rumi stood there frozen, surprised by the turn of the events.

At first she stayed there relishing in the nice sensation but then she caught herself and threw his arm off of her head, blushing, "Goodnight, asshole!"

She slammed the door at his face and got into her house, standing behind with her back to it, to recompose her emotions.

Looking down at her chest, where she put her hand, "What is this?" She felt her heart fluttering more than normal.

She knew very well that she did nothing close to a physical activity but she could feel that her core was hot.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the door, Kurai let out a laugh at her reaction, 'Aah, she's cute, I wanna tease her more!' And departed toward his car.

It's only when she heard him leave that she shook her head and clapped her cheeks, walking to her room, 'It's nothing, it's nothing…' She repeated.

Until the moment she got out of the car and the moment she entered her room, a pair of amber eyes were following her all along. "Fufufu…"

A quiet laugh echoed in the corridor, bypassing Rumi's hearing sense.

At the same time Kurai got in the limousine again, "Let's go to my house Kunishe!" He signaled the driver.

He finally settled on his seat after this long day. He closed his eyes too but didn't sleep because he could hear his parents, more accurately Akio, giggling.

"Ohoh Son, 'She's my friend' you said! Hah!" He tried to get back at him.

Kurai slowly opened one of his eyes at their attempt at teasing him, "Hum? Of course she is my friend…"

"Isn't she something more? I never saw a friend doing that though." He continued, trying to make Kurai slip.

"Come on Pops! She's still a kid, how could you think that?" He fully opened his eyes now that he was provoked at his own specialty.

This time it was Miku's turn, "Aren't you a kid too?" She snickered cutely.

"Well yeah, but I'm too young." He defended, 'More like too old.'

"So there's nothing more between you two?" Akio, after getting too much into their little game, bent forward, trying to put pressure on him.

Kurai, contrary to him, relaxed, "Something more?" He started thinking.

"Yes, there is." He settled his eyes on both his parents, grinning.

Slowly raising his parents' interest to get them hooked, "...She may be...my best friend." He added, now openly showing his smile at them.

'You can't beat me at my own game! Ahah!' Kurai thought, laying his back on the seat again.

The couple deflated, "Seriously!?" They both added looking at each other. Even Kunishe's lips twitched after hearing them since the TV was now gone.

"Anyway let's go! I want to sleep already, I still have f—…*Ahem*... school tomorrow." He coughed to avoid a disaster.

"Indeed, we shouldn't delay too much, we got to go back to Aichi too." Akio turned serious and looked at his wife.

"Yep! It was a nice day!"

The rest of the trip back to his house wasn't as agitated as the beginning, and with Kunishe driving they reached Kurai's home pretty fast. He could finally lay on his bed after telling his goodbyes a hundred times to his mom.

Slowly closing his eyes after getting into his room, one last thought escaped his mind, 'God please spare me! No more pregnancy in the future, let it be me or my acquaintances.'
