Capítulo 32: The Drunk Li Ruyan
Li Ruyan who was alone in her apartment and had lost interest in the wine on the table so she started munching on the fruits instead. It was unhealthy to only eat this for dinner but at the moment, she could not think straight.
Her eyes were slightly hazy. She had drunk more than five glasses of red wine, maybe even the whole bottle. She was drunk, no doubt about it but she was very quiet.
Even after finishing the bowl of fruits, she still opened her refrigerator and took out more. She ate and ate, allowing the sweetness of the fruits to distract her from the bitterness of her heart.
She looked at the wine glass which still had a bit of wine in it and decided to down the rest. But before she could pick it up, a hand snatched it away from her. The rest of the liquid disappeared into someone else's lips.
The only thing that's left was the empty wine glass.
"Min Yue, you thief...wuu... that is mine.." She complained, throwing a half-eaten apple at him. He avoided it and took the wine bottle away, screwing it shut and putting it on a cupboard. His eyes landed on the bowl of fruits and the messy state of the table.
He also went to take care of that while Li Ruyan began to mumble complaints.
"Min Yue, you are so evil...give me my wine back... you bad person.. you cheating person.."
The aforementioned cheating person was wiping the table clean while Li Ruyan was sitting on her seat, her face buried in her arms as she occasionally whispered things.
"Min Yue, I don't like you anymore... You hurt me... I'm going away. I don't want to stay here anymore.."
After cleaning his hands, Min Yue went to the bathroom and prepared a tub of hot water then he carried Li Ruyan to the bathroom. He began to peel away her clothes including her underwear before placing her in the bathtub. He went outside and took his coat off then he rolled his sleeves upwards.
Going back to the bathroom, he saw that Li Ruyan was trying to climb out and from her drunken state, she was not able to make sense of her surrounding. One of her hands and leg were out of the tub so he hurriedly went to catch her before she could fall.
Min Yue felt a headache coming when he saw earlier that she drank half of the contents of the bottle of red wine. Her hangover tomorrow morning would no doubt be brutal. He made a mental note to prepare some hangover soup.
But first, he did the arduous task of washing the drunk Li Ruyan's skinny body as well as her long black hair. She looked at him in a dazed manner as he struggled to put her hair away from her face.
"Min Yue, where are you touching me...?" He was rubbing the body wash all over her arms when she said this.
"I am helping you bathe, you naughty girl." He told her even if she would not remember this. He took the showerhead and sprayed water all over her body. A few times, she tried to slap it away, soaking him in the process.
She also kicked her legs and made wide drunken movements that further splashed water on his clothes.
"Nooo... Don't touch me... You and I are no longer boyfriend and girlfriend... bad..."
Min Yue caught her arms then he moved to scrub her back. The jade white skin of the woman glistened under the light, the beads of water running down her flawless back.
His hands paused for a second to admire the wide span of white skin before him. Min Yue felt a heat rising in his abdomen but he ignored it and focused on the task.
"Yue... Come...come.."
After helping the drunk Li Ruyan take a bath, he wrapped her up in a towel and brought her to her bed. He plugged in the blow-dryer and started drying her hair.
In the process, she was already quite sleepy and was almost leaning at him. Patiently, Min Yue would sit her upright until her long hair was quickly dried. It would be bad if Li Ruyan slept while her hair was still wet. She might catch a cold.
This was not the first time he had taken care of her when she was drunk so he was very familiar with what to do. He was also very familiar with the setup of her apartment and knows where all her belongings are since more often than not, he would spend the night with her.
The reason he was able to come and go was that he possessed a duplicate key that he received from Li Ruyan. That was how much trust she placed in him. And even until now, she did not ask to take the duplicate key away. He felt fortunate that she could still tolerate his presence at her apartment after all the things she witnessed and experienced.
"Yanyan, don't give up on me, okay?" He whispered, placing a kiss on her cheek.
