"Mr. Du, whatever is it you want to ask, just say it. Don't speak in riddles." Li Ruyan told him.
Du Tianxing reached out to stroke her hair, making her lean away. His eyes turned cold before he grabbed a fistful of her hair and pulled it down, making her raise her chin and yelp.
"Miss Li, remember, you are in no position to order me around. To me, you are no different than an ant that I could crush. While I like my women to be feisty, it is better if they are obedient and knows how to please their betters."
Li Ruyan was infuriated. "Who wants to please a man like you? Mr. Du, those women are probably blind since they can't seem to tell what a bastard you a--Agh!" Li Ruyan cried out when he pulled her hair roughly.
Tears began to form at the corner of her eyes as she looked at him.
Du Tianxing caressed her cheek in a gentle manner but his expression was void of any emotions, contrasting against his actions.
"Miss Li, you have a sharp mouth. "He said while looking at her luscious pink lips. "I wonder if you can still say those things after I'm done with you." He moved his hands and slipped it under her dress, squeezing her thigh. She shrieked in surprise but his hand on her hair pulled roughly.
"Miss Li, you are not a virgin anymore so it makes me curious why you still act so high and mighty when you are no different than those other women out there. But I suppose Min Yue, my little cousin has extraordinary tastes. He would even make do with a used shoe."
Li Ruyan froze. Du Tianxing pinched her cheek and leaned to her ears.
"So how much for a night?"
Li Ruyan was so angry by his remark that she wasted no time to shove him immediately. Before she could stop herself, her right hand went to slap him and his head whipped to the side.
The audible crack of her palms hitting against the surface of skin resounded inside the car that you could even tell how much strength was put into the slap.
Li Ruyan's body trembled. She removed his hand from under her dress and quickly opened the door. With one last look at Du Tianxing, she sneered.
She took out a handful of money from her bag and threw it at him.
"Thank you for your time, Mr. Du. It was a pleasure talking to you. Here is your medical compensation." She said in a sarcastic tone before raising her middle finger at him.
She unashamedly walked away with her head held high and boarded a taxi to her apartment.
In his car, Du Tianxing was grinning with a crazy light in his eyes. He held his cheek that was slapped by Li Ruyan. It hurt. It was painful and it was probably going to swell.
"Min Yue, you found yourself a wildcat. It's a pity that it isn't meant to be." Du Tianxing said as he dialed someone on the phone. He picked up the money that Li Ruyan threw at him as he did so while waiting for the caller to pick up.
When the line went through, his grin widened with excitement, his eyes narrowing much like a grinning fox.
"I need you to investigate a woman."
After saying what needed to be said, he ended the call and pulled a handkerchief from his pocket. He covered the money with it before stuffing it away. That would be his souvenir from this encounter.
Just when he was about to move to the driver's seat, he spotted something shiny on the floor of his car. He picked it up and brought it to his eyes.
It was a diamond bracelet.

Inside her apartment, Li Ruyan was opening a bottle of 1989 Cheval-Blanc with a pissed off look on her face. She poured herself a bottle and downed it one go then she poured another cup but this time she savored the taste and was not quick to drink it all up.
She sat on her kitchen just like that, drinking away her sorrows while alone. It had been awhile since she treated herself to a good drink. It was a pity that she did not manage to drink the Ergo Mullen that she ordered previously and just like all the other dishes, that wine was sent to her boss.
It was probably the reason why he allowed her to go home early. Chen Zhelan would be disappointed if he found out that she spent the rest of her night at someone else's party and was using the other half of the night to drink wine.
She rubbed her tired eyes before taking a sip of her glass.
She also took out some fruits from her refrigerator and snacked on them.
Popping a strawberry into her mouth, Li Ruyan stared at her wine glass with mixed emotions.
The red liquid swirled around the glass as she lazily rotated it in her hand, watching without saying anything.
Du Tianxing. Min Yue's so-called cousin.
Min Yue was never talkative when it came to his family. She understood that he did not get along with them and that it was a sore topic that she wisely avoided.
But now...
She regretted not knowing.
