Capítulo 77: Magic Intensity (1)

Skyler could barely walk and was holding on to Malcom, as they began to advance through that place.

Malcom checked each dungeon to find out if any other prisoner was in that place, he knew it was too much to ask to find Nora in that place, but his hope was still alive.

As they advanced, they tried to stay hidden from the church members who were walking from one side to the other in robes. Malcom, defeating two more men with the power of his boots, took their robes to try to go unnoticed.

"We really must get out of here!" Skyler said her body was weak, and staying on her feet was difficult for her.

Malcom, who was holding her, nodded and replied gravely, "We won't get far with these necklaces, especially if that man is here. We must take these things off."

Carefully but quickly, they walked through the corridors dressed in robes that caused people not to notice them.

In that lair, there were many people moving from one side to another. The walls looked like those of an ancient castle, and Malcom instantly knew that they were hidden in another ruin.

But without a doubt, this Ruin had been inhabited for a long time. All its rooms were active, and everyone was walking from one place to another like that place would have already become their home.

"The inhibitor collars must be in the armory," Malcom commented.

Skyler nodded and then asked, "And where is the armory?" She then looked around them for any clues in case he did not know.

Malcom remained silent as he thought for a second, and only one idea crossed his mind.

He then slowly started walking down a hall when a robed man just like him walked in his direction.

"Shit!" Malcom suddenly cursed when the robed man was closed to him.

The man looked at him curiously, and with an amused voice, he asked, "What's up, Brother?"

Malcom looked at him and said calmly, "I forgot. I had to look for the weapon master... I don't know if I have time to reach him."

"What are you talking about? He is in his armory," The man replied as he put on a puzzled expression. He then turned and pointed down the hall.

His sample showed a door in that same hallway, and, surprised, Malcolm nodded when he said, "But I went a second ago, and he wasn't there."

The smiling man shook his head and then answered, "I just left that place," he then showed a belt with some cards that Malcom clearly recognized as his as the man said, "I have to take this to Alexander!"

Malcom lips twitched. He then replied as calmly as he could, "I see, thanks!"

Just as he said that Malcom jumped with prominent speed and, turning on his own axis, kicked the man's chest, causing him to crash against the wall and lose consciousness.

Malcom retrieved the card from him and, taking Skyler, carried her to where the man had indicated. With it almost loaded, Malcom approached with speed and, placing it on the table, and then he said, "Old man, the Marked escaped!"

The old man widened his eyes when Malcom added, "I don't know how but I caught this girl!"

The old man looked at Skyler with surprise and recognized her after a moment. He looked to the side to see Malcom, but he could only see how the Marked lifted his foot to his face and knocked him out instantly.

Taking the unconscious man's hand with his finger, she touched the gem on his necklace, deactivating it instantly.

At that moment, he took one of his cards, and when he opened it, a wooden box appeared from which he took out a red potion that, giving it to Skyler and it healed her most serious wounds.

The girl feeling better was able to move to remove her own necklace and activate her powers. They smiled in relief as they searched that room for the rest of Malcom's treasures with no luck.

The disappointment and fury of the Marked were clear, and looking at Skyler, she said, "I know, but we must go!"

Malcom took a deep breath and, trying to keep calm, he nodded. They would both escape from that place.

Malcom and Skyler, now free of their necklaces, began to wander the lair to find a way to escape.

As they did so, they avoided contact with the church members. Their time was running out because they would soon discover that the prisoners had escaped, and the search for them would begin.

As they advanced, they managed to reach the living room that led to the main door, and once there.

Skyler was looking at the path to freedom. "Malcom! If we go through that door, we can get out of here!"

Malcom was listening to her, but his mind was elsewhere. Without the rest of his treasures, he did not want to escape.

He needed to find them before leaving. He looked at Skyler, and then he said, "Wear the disguise and leave this place. I will search a little more. My treasures must be somewhere."

"Do not do that!" Skyler said calmly, "If you do that and get caught, it will all be for nothing. You can't stay here!"

Malcom looked at her and tried to smile, but his smile didn't reach her eyes. At that moment, he said, "Sorry, Skyler! But I can't go! I can't lose my treasures!"

She approached and said with determination, "Don't be silly! We will go! We will talk to my uncle! And they will destroy this place, and your treasures will return to you!"

Malcom looked at her in disbelief. He perfectly knew that if he left, the possibility of recovering his treasures would be minimal.

Without them, his fighting capacity would diminish a lot. He saw her with eyes full of doubt and walking away.

"I am sorry! But I can't go! You go tell them and come get me!" He said with a wry smile.

Malcom pulled on his hood to step into the lair again before Skyler's begging eyes when both of them heard a yell.

"Hey! You! Bring me something to eat, please!"
