CH869: Global Three Months of Conflict VI

A period of peace went one for another eight years until the second election after the peace agreement. The rebel leader was to hand over power after the election.

However, contrary to expectations and popular sentiment, instead of handing power over to a voted representative from the resistance side, the rebel leader forcibly inserted a successor into the election. Eventually, this said successor won the election amidst irregularities and controversies. 

This, combined with third party actions from a faction loyal to the former ousted president of the country, spiralled the country into the latest round of violence.

However, this time, the International community couldn't successfully wade into the matter.
