Brad's pov
It's been three months since April's accident, her fractured bones have fully healed. She no longer needs the wheelchair to navigate her way around, but can't walk on her own without the aid of her new crutches.
These past weeks have been so damn hard for me, seeing her stuck in the wheelchair like a broken doll. I know she has pulled off the nonchalant façade of not being affected by the accident that has left her vulnerable. I saw her cry once when she fell off the wheelchair. I reminisce how distressed and angry I was, seeing her look so helpless lying on the floor. She tried hiding the pain from me when I reached out to help her but I had already seen her tears.
"Brad, you are still on the circle" April's voice jerks me out of my thoughts.
I scratched my head staring at the sketch I have been reluctantly forced to do.
April was giving Kayden and me painting lessons and it was harder than I thought.
She rolled her eyes sighing.
