Capítulo 32: Better Looking Than Shi Jin

"Miss Deng, we have only one opening left, so I hope you can join us." Mr Wang promptly expressed his interest to groom Deng Yufei.
"Me?" said Deng Yufei nervously. "Mr Wang, you're mistaken. My friend is the one who needs a talent agency."
"Uh huh. I'm the one looking for an agency," Shi Jin chimed in.
Mr Wang smiled as he said, "I think you suit the company more. If you join my agency, I promise to ensure that you get all the resources agreed in the contract."
He pushed a document in front of Deng Yufei.
Shi Jin picked it up for a look before she said softly, "These are good resources. In the next five years, you will be guaranteed two TV dramas, one movie, and at least three endorsement deals…"
Her voice was filled with envy and anticipation. She kept looking at Mr Wang imploringly for an opportunity. However, Mr Wang pretended she was non-existent and only had eyes for Deng Yufei.
Deng Yufei was very tempted by the offer.
Deng Yufei only learned of this agency after spending a long time squeezing the information out of Hu Lai. Hu Lai even had to help convince them before Mr Wang and this talent agent agreed to meet.
Initially, she intended on using this opportunity to drive a wedge between Shi Jin and Fu Xiuyuan, but Mr Wang ended up offering her a deal.
She had heard many stories about celebrities who ended up getting signed by talent agencies when they merely accompanied their friends for the audition. Those stories were absolutely legendary and made the offer tempting.
She had not found herself a talent agency yet. She was the only person without a talent agent on this show thanks to Chu Ling's recommendation and support.
Chu Ling had planned on getting her to join his talent agency. He could get her a much better deal after she performed well at "Ultimate Singer-Songwriter".
However, Chu Ling was so angry with her that he even revoked her Lucky Lot. Would he still help to get her signed to his talent agency?
She felt that her career was at a standstill. Hence, Mr Wang's appreciation undoubtedly gave her hope.
Shi Jin watched coldly and waited for Deng Yufei to make a decision.
"I need to give it some thought," said Deng Yufei. "Mr Wang, please give me some time to consider."
"I can give you three days," said Mr Wang. "Don't keep me waiting."

Shi Jin and Deng Yufei walked out.
She spoke disappointedly, "What should I do now? I finally managed to get an interview with a good company that offers such great resources, but they didn't want me. Sigh."
"Don't worry. I will talk to them again," comforted Deng Yufei while she reveled in the joy of winning a contract.
In the past, everyone was drawn to Shi Jin. Every time someone met them, it seemed as though Shi Jin was some magnet and everyone would get attracted to her like they were nails. Deng Yufei often ended up relegated as pure decoration.
However, someone finally appreciated her beauty this time.
Deng Yufei contemplated, "Sure enough, people in the entertainment industry have keen eyes. I must be much better looking than Shi Jin."
Judging from the way Deng Yufei looked, Shi Jin was certain that she was tempted to sign with the agency.
Golden Domain Entertainment was big business and had celebrities aplenty. Even though it could not compare to Supreme Entertainment, it seemed like the best option Deng Yufei could have.
Capítulo 33: The Only Bottle of Eye Drops

Shi Jin said softly, "Feifei, since they insisted on signing you, don't worry about my feelings. I will find some other way to leave Supreme Entertainment."
Deng Yufei could not help finding the sight of Shi Jin telling her to take the deal with Golden Domain Entertainment silly. In any case, she was tempted to take their deal.

At 2:00 am in the morning.
The lights at Benevolent Hospital remained brightly lit as usual.
Old Master Shi's room was usually dark at this hour, but the lights were still on. Since he had lost his sight, he no longer needed light and it was only used by the medical staff.
Almost everyone in the family had hurried over after he suddenly suffered a relapse.
The light at the operating theatre was on and the doctors were performing a procedure on Old Master Shi.
Yu Xiuhua anxiously looked at her husband Shi Qing. "Wasn't he fine in the afternoon? What happened?"
Shi Qing did not know either.
A nurse explained, "Old Master Shi said he had regained his sight. He told us to continue applying his eye drops but we couldn't find them, so he became so mad that he passed out…"
"What eye drops? Can't we get more from the pharmacy?" asked Shi Qing. It was not like the Shi family could not afford to buy some eye drops.
"Shi Jin gave him the eye drops and the hospital doesn't have the same one," explained the nurse hurriedly.
Shi Qing immediately disregarded the eye drops and felt his father was overreacting.
Old Master Shi doted on Shi Jin a lot, so he cared about the things she gave him. However, it was sheer nonsense to say that his eyes had recovered because of Shi Jin's eye drops.
Old Master Shi had gradually lost his sight over a decade ago, so even the gods could not save it.
Old Master Shi finally came out of the operating theatre at dawn. His face was pasty and his lifeless eyes looked murky.
"Dad." Shi Qing stepped forward.
"My eye drops. Get me my…" said Old Master Shi as he waved his hand.
Shi Qing immediately said, "I will buy them right away. I will buy you ten bottles even. I will buy you any kind of eye drops you want."
"I only want that one." Old Master Shi was so weak that it seemed as though he was going to pass out any moment.
Shi Qing felt powerless. Even though he was aware that the eye drops were a mere placebo for Old Master Shi and useless in reality, everyone had to try looking for it considering his condition.
Yu Xiuhua said hesitantly after they came out of the hospital ward, "I tossed it into the trash yesterday."
"Why did you throw it?" Shi Qing was furious.
"Ever since Shi Jin gave him those dubious eye drops, Dad refuses to take any other medicine. How can his body take it if this persists? Also, you know full well that Shi Jin's medicine is useless. Dad has been blind for over a decade. How could she give him fake medicine? Whose fault is it if his condition aggravates from not taking medicine?" Yu Xiuhua looked angry.
Shi Xuexin hurriedly said, "Mom was just worried about Grandpa."
Shi Qing had no choice but to get people to search for it.
Countless patients came to Benevolent Hospital daily, so they generated a lot of trash.
According to hospital policy, trash was cleared three times a day. The trash was sorted into medical waste and common refuse before they were disinfected and sent to the refuse collection point in the city.
How could they find the eye drops?
Shi Qin had to call Shi Jin.
Shi Jin was having breakfast with Fu Xiuyuan when she received the call. She frowned as she said, "That's the only bottle I have."
