60% Tales of Lyren Book 2: The Divide / Chapter 3: Background

Capítulo 3: Background

Here I'll be slightly covering the lore and some info on a few of the races of this world. If you'd like to see more on more races, some events, or places please tell me and I will get right to you.

This is the planet Selenus a planet about five times larger than the Earth you humans reading this know of. Selenus is orbited by its three moons: Luna, Terra, and Gaea.

Terrans facts and lore: The Terrans were much more adaptable and were said to have come from Terra, thus their name, Terrans despite looking much like humans themselves were not related, Terrans had ashy grey skin and lighter colored hair at birth but these could change, but one thing that remained constant among all Terrans despite their anatomical changes, they always have blue eyes. Terrans also could be born with longer prehensile tails that act like a third arm. Terrans are so adaptable that one genome of them where they could change on the spot at a moment's notice was the changelings. From the Terran's adaptability, many of the inhuman or demihuman races today were born from orks to drakenblood and even the Tsunians, a race of half snake half humanoid race. There seems to be no limit to what they could change into as long as they meet the requirements, sadly it seems the Terrans have been slowly dying out as when they evolve (adapt to an environment) there's no changing back only following that line of evolution as such we have much fewer Terrans than we used to. It was theorized that Terrans came from the moon, Terra, hence their name.

Human facts and lore: Humans were the first-ever race to gain sentience and they appear to be extremely adaptable only beaten out by Terrans. Humans are pack creatures and tend to stick in their little packs, these packs could include other races as well from other Humans, Terrans, Orks, Elves, Dwarves, and on the rare occasion a Beastkin. Humans despite loving and preferring groups love adventure and tend to wander from place to place, they seem to be genetically capable of reproducing with other races including Terran evolutions and Beastkin (also on rare occasions). Humans are by far the most intelligent of the bunch, disregarding elves and a select few Beastkin, with the most technological advancement using makeshift rifles and handguns. Though talented in magic they're most known for their endurance and being able to take a hit and to heal from damage quickly. Humans have had a few descendants of different races though only a select few like, Kinsmen (Animal Hybrids), Elves, Dwarves, Orks, and Hoblins (a variant of goblin that's sentient and human-esque. Other than these though there haven't been many demi-races born from them.

Dwarf facts and lore: Dwarves are a shorter variant of humans that have less ability with magic but much more strength and vitality. It's said that dwarves cannot get sick nor be poisoned. Dwarves despite being of much shorter stature than other races they are by far the strongest being able to pick up and wild weapons weighing in at a staggering 1 ton, though this hasn't been confirmed as dwarves stick to themselves within their mines and caves beneath the ground. Dwarves are very sensitive to light and only after spending time in the sunlight can they overcome it, they tend to not like the open outdoors and like to secure themselves in tight areas. as of late Dwarves have only had one variant found, Deepsteel dwarves nothing is known of Deepsteel Dwarves as only one was ever documented and his only words were that his kind intentionally avoided other races and lived much deeper than regular dwarves.

Elven facts and Lore: Elves are a variant of humans that lost much in strength and technological advancement but gained in lifespan and magical prowess. Elves use their intellect to create new magic and/or help in the creation of new technology. despite being descendants of humans they believe themselves of a higher authority and don't interact with humans especially not dwarves. They tend to see dwarves as an inferior version of themselves even though the elves hate the dwarves, the dwarves don't share the animosity. Elves have four variants, Forest Elves, Dark Elves, High Elves, and Snowy Elves. Each elf lives in their respective environment Forest Elves- Forests and Plains, High Elves-Mountains and High altitudes, Snowy Elves-Tundras & snowy caverns. Dark Elves are different as they are the product of Elf and Terran blood mixing with Terran blood taking from and center causing a dark coloration in the skin and white hair, their eyes are usually heterochromatic with one being blue.

Orks lore and facts: Orks are a variant of Human and Terran blood mixing, though with the Terran blood taking front and center. Orks are large musclebound creatures with anywhere from tan to grey skin tones. They all predominantly have brown eyes though the grey skin-toned variant has blue eyes and is considered the weakest of the Ork clans. The Orks live in clans of up to 500 members they live in combat with other clans though don't take part in many wars just disputes over territory or competitions of strength. There is only one known variant of Orks and that is the Goliaths.

One more for you guys before I get back to the story.

Demons & Devil-kind's lore and facts: Demons and Devil-kind are closely related and are descended from the Terrans. Demons are more animalistic and the only ever reported offspring of a Terran and a Beastkin. when a demon has a child with any other race it will result in a Devil-kind with some features of the non-demon race. The demons have red hair, and blue eyes, they have ashy grey skin and usually end up inheriting the tail from the Terrans and in some cases have been known to sprout black horns or have wings. Devil-kind have the same features with red hair and blue eyes, though their ashy grey skin can be more white almost pale white, and their horns and tails can be white as well. There's only been one case of a Devil-kind having a child with another race that didn't result in a Devil-kind. It was with a Devil-kind and an undocumented mother race the child was a Nephilim, no facts are known about Nephilim's as the baby disappeared not long after it was born.

I hope you enjoyed this small touch on this world's races and their variants.

REFLEXIONES DE LOS CREADORES

This chapter isn't really a chapter per se but it was meant to give a bit of a description to some of the races any readers might not be familiar with or at least my touchup on some races as well. I hope you enjoyed it even though most of you probably didn't.

The story will continue with the next chapter hopefully coming within the next few days
