Capítulo 309: Of Love and Trust

The sound of a tortured scream echoed in the mountains. It sent chills throughout Zira's body as the once familiar haughty voice was reduced to a mere pitiful cry. 

It did something else to her. It made her realize how dangerous Angelo could be when he was dealing with the enemy. She saw it all and shuddered.

That would have been her if he wasn't in love with her. She had betrayed him and hurt him once. How was she different?

Ever since she had his words, she was feeling extremely uneasy. Having someone who could see to the depth of one's soul as a partner was scary.

It wasn't that she feared causing him harm. It was just the thought of him probing that made her want to run away. She was scared.

Coupled with this cruel version of him she was seeing, she was quite uncertain how to react. She paced around the room fearing what was to come.
