Zamarad found herself in the meadow once more. She was worried about her physical body. What happened after she fell dizzy and fainted? Is she safe? Is her baby safe? Was she still at the market?
She could feel the panic raise in her heart until a hand wrapped itself around her. It was very familiar. She could smell the subtle masculine scent from the man. He was her dream man.
" Stop thinking too much. You are safe and the baby is safe. " She believed his words without asking any question. A sigh of relief left her lips but Shahzad heard it loud and clear.
" Why were you out of the castle? That too on your own?"
For a second, she felt compelled to turn around and ask how he knew but she stopped. Of course he knew. The same way he knew where to find her and how to find her.
" I felt suffocated in the castle. The coldness, bullying and loneliness was too much for me to take. Hence I decided to go for fresh air outside the castle. My parents were not at home and my siblings went out as well. It felt like a cage. I felt imprisoned in that house.
I didn't know the consequences of wanting to get out of the cage though. I risked my baby's life." Her eyes watered as her hand automatically moved to her womb. Shahzad asked the question with the intention of scolding her but after hearing her reason and seeing her tears, his heart ached for her.
It was all his fault. She was a bane to her family because she was his bride to be from the moment she breathed her first. The mark had always been with her. He felt responsible for her unhappiness. " I am sorry beloved. I promise you all the freedom in the world after you have safely delivered."
He kissed the crone of her neck sending shivers throughout her body. Unlike before when she woke up and felt the need to play in the stream, this time she felt happy staying in her mysterious lover's arms. He felt warm . He felt safe. He felt like home.
She turned around in his embrace with the hope of seeing his face but she was disappointed to see him in his signature mask. She pouted almost in a silent complaint. He chuckled before pulling her into his chest. " Who was with you before you fainted love?" he asked with an edge in his voice. He tried to be as subtle as possible but Zamarad was not a genius for nothing.
" I went to the market alone but met a man on my way. " The mare mention of the word man made his body tense up. He hated it when people coveted his things. Zamarad felt that too. She tried to move her face away from his chest but he held her in place." Don't move!" He ordered trying hard to calm himself.
Instead of moving out of his arms, she placed her head firmly on his chest and soothingly patted his back to remind him that she was with him. " I paid no heed to him but he was persistent. Even so, I thought that you are probably more good looking than him even though I have never actually seen your face.
I continued ignoring him until he snatched the anklet that I had picked. The anklet was something that caught my eyes and I felt compelled to ask for it from him. He then said that there was a story behind the shape of the anklet. That was the only reason I gave him my time. I was curious about the anklet and was eager to hear the story.
Time passed by as he told his story. By the time he was done, my curious was sated and I had answers to some of my questions. Fortunately or unfortunately, he went after a man whom I assume was a thief and that was all. I started feeling dizzy shortly after before I fainted. "
Shahzad listened to her talk and felt his jealous spree dissolve. She had called him handsome twice even before seeing his face. He could feel his ego inflate with pride. " Don't follow strangers next time. Whatever question you have, you can ask me and I will answer them with time. Don't forget your safety just to satisfy your curiously. "
He reprimanded fondly. Zamarad chuckled in his arms. The guy was trying so hard to hide his jealous. "I am glad you are not the throwing fits type who yell first before listening to any explanation. I like you. "
Shahzad smiled under the mask. " Thank you. I am glad you are the type with very high E.Q . You can actually tell I was jealous and didn't mock me. You took your time to explain what actually happened. " The two stayed like that for sometime until Zamarad started feeling drowsy.
How could she feel drowsy even in her dreams? This is not fair. " I don't want to fall asleep yet. Can you talk to me? I want to listen to your voice. " The man looked at his woman and smiled. Of course he was eager to talk to her. But if he did all the talking, she would surely fall asleep before he could finish a sentence. He decided to make her talk to him instead.
"Tell me about your dream partner. What would you like to be given on your birthdays? How do you like your wedding to be? What gifts do you want for each anniversary? "
Zamarad immediately sat up with a sweet smile on her face.
" I have always dreamt of a prince charming who would receive me on his horse and walk me through the isle. I have always loved the concept of traditional wedding. I fancy a wedding with many people dancing and rejoicing together. I love flowers. I have always wanted to be given three thousand red Rose's, for my first anniversary . Another three thousand blue Rose's for my second and white Rose's for my third.
For my birthday, I fancy a family celebration with cakes, sweets, music and warm wishes. As for the kind of partner I like, I want someone who gives me the benefit of doubt. I like someone who let me explain my action before jumping to conclusions. I especially like a caring man who gets jealous at the mention of another man." She paused, turned towards him and kissed his masked cheek laughing.
I would like to have a partner like you. Someone who put my safety and needs before his own. Its quiet selfish of me to say that but I have never had that all my life. I would like to have you as my partner."
