Capítulo 2: 2

He licked his chapped lips. "I-"

His voice fell weakly, feeling the sorrowful exhaustion travel down his spine. He tried again. "I trusted you."

Tears started to pool in his eyes, the world getting blurrier, wet tracks falling down his face. "I trusted you! And you- You betrayed me!"

Their face stayed in their natural default, a cool impenetrable stare. Like still waters with a murky reflection that he couldn't see into. "And?" They asked calmly.

"Do you not care? Am I nothing to you?" He was hiccuping, hands bunched into fists as he smeared his running tears away with the back of his fist. "I can't believe you! How could you do that to me? After everything we've been through. I gave my trust to you!"

They were nothing more than a blurry face, looking through salty tears. And the only reaction they had was to casually shift their weight onto their other leg. "It's not my fault you trusted me."

"I hate you! I hate you I hate youIhateyouIhateyou!" He was shrieking now. He was breathing heavy, feeling a sob caught in the back of his throat. His hands were trembling, nails digging into the palm of his hand. "I gave you everything. I thought you loved me. I can't believe you used me like that," he hissed.

They looked calm, unflinching. Cooly looking over him, with a disregard that stung. "You loved me," they said scornfully. "So? I don't care about you. No one does."

For a moment, he stared at them, looking for the person that he thought they were. Looking for a sign of remorse, for any guilt, for any sorrow, for a sign of something. He could see their face, still looking at him, the contrast between him sobbing his eyes out, and them being indifferent to it. Finally, he quietly said, "I thought you were different. Turns out that it was just a dream."

They shook their head. They had always called him a drama queen. But- in the end, it didn't matter. "Whatever. See ya."

They walked away.

He watched their back as they disappeared, holding himself, finally breaking down and collapsing on the floor. He scrubbed his eyes, unable to stop the tears that fell.
