The gang was taking a break after walking so much for the day and decided to have some lunch. After a filling lunch and tidying up, Misty decided to go fishing at a big pond that wasn't too far from them. A few minutes went by, Ashlyn decided to go and check on Misty.
"Any luck yet Misty?" Ashlyn whispered.
"No nothing yet," Misty whispered, "You can't expect something to bite your line right away."
Just as she said that, Misty's line began to jerk in the water.
"Oh I got a bite." Misty said as she carefully wound up her fishing line, trying not to break the line.
"Need any help Misty?" Ashlyn offered.
"No thanks Ashlyn. I've got this." Misty assured her.
Misty wound up her fishing line some more, until at last she hooked out what it was that she captured. But when she and Ashlyn saw it, they were shocked. What had hooked onto Misty's line were two Woopers and three Marills (one Marill was clutching onto her rod and the other Pokémon were clutching onto each other's tails) and they were all hurt.
"Oh my goodness," Misty gasped, "what on earth happened to them?"
"I don't know, but we better get them to Brock at once." Ashlyn said.
Ashlyn picked up the two Woopers and Misty picked up the three Marills, and they all ran back to where Brock was. When Brock saw the five injured Pokémon, he got out his Pokémon medical kit at once. He sprayed potions onto them and wrapped them up in bandages.
"Did you see how these five Pokémon got hurt?" Brock asked Ashlyn and Misty.
"No we didn't. They were already hurt when I hooked them. And I don't think my rod had anything to do with the injuries." Misty replied.
"I wonder what happened." Ashlyn pondered.
At that moment, Ashlyn felt a presence coming towards them. She turned towards it and saw a small, dainty, bipedal Pokémon. It was white with a red and blue triangular ring pattern on its body. It also had a relatively long neck and long legs and a pair of wings on its back. Ashlyn knew that the Pokémon was a Togetic.
"A Togetic? What's it doing here?" Ashlyn questioned.
Then she noticed the injuries on Togetic as it was weakly flying over to them. She ran over to it and caught it before it could hit the ground.
"Oh you poor thing. What happened to you?" Ashlyn asked as she held it in her arms.
Togetic weakly looked up at Ashlyn, "T-Toge Togetic. (I-I was attacked.)"
"Attacked? By who?" Ashlyn questioned.
"Togetic. (A Poliwrath.)" Togetic answered.
"A Poliwrath?" Ashlyn pondered. "Come on, let's get your injuries treated first."
Ashlyn brought Togetic over to Brock who handed her a Super Potion and bandages. She sprayed the potion on Togetic's injuries and gently put the bandages on.
"Feel better?" Ashlyn asked.
"Togetic! Toge! (Much better! Thank you!)" Togetic smiled.
Ashlyn smiled, "I'm glad. What were you saying about a Poliwrath?"
Togetic's expression saddened, "Toge Toge, Togetic Toge Toge Togetic Toge. (At a nearby pond, a Poliwrath took over and beats up any water Pokémon it sees and any Pokémon that wants to take a drink.)" Togetic answered.
"What did Togetic say?" Misty asked.
"Togetic said that there's a wild Poliwrath beating up all of the water Pokémon and those that take a drink from a nearby pond." Ashlyn informed.
"That's terrible. No Pokémon should be a big bully." Misty commented.
"I agree. That Poliwrath needs to be stopped." Brock declared.

After the Woopers, Marills, and Togetic got a bit better, they led the gang to where the Poliwrath was. The Poliwrath was standing on a big stone that lay at the edge of the pond, and it was pumping its fists as if it was saying that it ruled the pond.
"That Poliwrath is a big show off." Misty commented, angrily.
"Raichu. (Hey look there.)" Tesla pointed to something in the pond.
The gang noticed two small blue crocodiles in the pond, and they were growling at the Poliwrath.
"Hey those two Pokémon are Totodile." Brock said.
Ashlyn took out her phone and scanned Totodile:
[Totodile, the big jaw Pokémon. Totodile has a habit of using its highly developed jaws to chomp on anything in sight, so Trainers beware.]
"It looks like those Totodile are going to fight Poliwrath." Misty observed.
"Toto-dile!" The big jaw Pokémon used Water Gun at the Poliwrath while the other used Scratch.
"Poli!" Poliwrath ignored the Water Gun and Scratch attack, it then rolled itself straight into Totodiles.
"TOTODILE!" The Totodiles cried out in pain as the attack hits them.
"That was Submission." Ashlyn informed.
Ashlyn and Misty left the grass and caught the Totodiles.
"Hey Totodiles, are you okay?" Ashlyn asked.
The two Totodiles looked up at Ashlyn and Misty and nodded, "Totodile..."
Brock got angry and he stepped out of the tall grass as well and stood in front of the wild tadpole Pokémon, "Hey Poliwrath! I challenge you to a battle!" He declared.
Poliwrath turned around, "Poliwrath Poliwrath! (I accept your challenge human!)" He said.
"He accepted Brock." Ashlyn translated.
"Go Victreebel!" Brock sent out the flycatcher Pokémon.
"Victreebel!" The flycatcher Pokémon appeared.
"Nice choice Brock." Misty complimented.
"Yeah, but the problem is that Poliwrath's both Water and Fighting-type." Ashlyn pointed out.
"Alright Victreebel use Razor Leaf!" Brock ordered.
Victreebel shot his leaves straight at Poliwrath, but Poliwrath jumped to dodge them and then it used Bubblebeam at Victreebel.
"Wow that Poliwrath is tough." Ashlyn stated, impressed.
"Brock better do something otherwise he'll lose." Misty said, worried.
"Use Vine Whip Victreebel." Brock commanded.
Victreebel extended the brown vine on his head and went to grab Poliwrath with it. But Poliwrath kept on dodging Victreebel's vine whip attack.
"Oh man that Poliwrath's fast." Ashlyn commented.
"Yeah," Misty agreed, "Poor Victreebel's attacks keep on missing."
"Use Stun Spore." Brock ordered.
Victreebel released an orange powder from his mouth and Poliwrath got caught in it and became paralyzed.
"Now use Solar Beam."
Victreebel gathered energy, while his leaves glowed, and then he fired a beam of light from the mouth straight at Poliwrath. Poliwrath fainted after being hit by the solar beam.
"Time to catch it," Brock took out an empty Pokéball out from his pocket, "Go Pokéball!"
The Pokéball hit the Poliwrath, sucked it inside the Pokéball and then a few seconds later Poliwrath was caught.
Ashlyn and the gang were relieved that it was over now.
"Now that Poliwrath is captured, all the wild Pokémon can drink from the pond freely." Misty said.
"I still can't believe that Poliwrath tried to claim this whole pond his territory." Ashlyn commented.
"Wild Pokémon can be like that sometimes," Brock pointed out, "Sometimes wild Pokémon act mean like humans do."
"You're right about that." Ashlyn agreed.
Brock checked to see if the two Totodiles, two Woopers, three Marills, and Togetic were okay, and they were. Just then the Woopers and Marills gathered around Misty.
"Huh?" Misty blinked.
"I think they want to go with you, Misty." Ashlyn smiled.
"Really? You all want to come with me?" Misty asked, surprised.
The Woopers and Marills looked at Misty and then nodded 'yes'. Misty took out five empty Pokéballs from her rucksack and captured them in a matter of seconds.
"Wow. Not only do I have my own Woopers, I also have my own Marills too." Misty smiled.
Ashlyn, Tesla and Brock were happy for Misty. Togetic came over to Ashlyn.
"Togetic Toge? (Can I come with you?)" Togetic asked.
"Are you sure?" Ashlyn asked.
Togetic smiled happily. Ashlyn smiled back and took out a Pokéball, "Welcome to the team, Togetic."
She tapped Togetic on the head and Togetic was sucked inside. The Pokéball instantly dinged which meant a successful capture. Then Ashlyn turned to one of the Totodiles.
"Hey Totodile I wish to capture you," She said, "I saw you fight the Poliwrath, and I thought you were amazing. I want you on my team."
The Totodile stood still and stared at Ashlyn for a minute and then posed for a fight. Misty said to the other Totodile that she wished to capture it. The other Totodile agreed to the challenge.

Ashlyn and Misty got ready to battle the two Totodiles. The Totodiles wanted to battle together, so this turned out to be a double battle. Ashlyn chose Chikorita to battle Totodile and Misty used one of her two Poliwhirls to battle the other Totodile.
"Chikorita use Razor Leaf." Ashlyn ordered.
"Poliwhirl use Double Slap." Misty commanded.
Chikorita swung her leaves at the first Totodile, and Poliwhirl slapped the other Totodile many times with his hand. Both the Totodiles got hit by the attacks, but it didn't stop them. The Totodiles opened their jaws, then their teeth started to glow blue, with ice appearing, and the Totodiles ran to bite on Chikorita and Poliwhirl.
"They're using ice fang. That's an ice type move." Ashlyn told Misty.
"Well we better attack quickly then." Misty declared.
"Vine Whip, Chikorita!" Ashlyn ordered.
Chikorita sent her vines out and whacked Totodile a lot with them. Totodile fainted on the top. Misty's Poliwhirl sprayed water gun at the other Totodile, stopping in in its tracks.
"Now use Double Slap again." Misty commanded.
Poliwhirl slapped Totodile multiple times with his hand, making Totodile exhausted.
"Time to catch them Misty." Ashlyn said.
"Yeah." Misty agreed.
She and Ashlyn got out their lure balls and tossed them at the Totodiles. A few seconds later the Totodiles were captured.
"All right, we did it, Misty!" Ashlyn cheered.
Misty smiled, "Yeah, we got our own Totodiles!"
The two girls high fived. Tesla and Brock congratulated them on the captures. Misty was able to get water some Pokémon from the Johto region and Ashlyn was able to get a Totodile which meant she finally had all of the Johto Starter Pokémon. So today turned out to be a great day for both Ashlyn and Misty. And so, the gang continued on their journey.
