Capítulo 33: 33. New member?
"Alright Lili, Finn here is going to take you to get your freedom." I tell the girl who panics again.
"Can you come with? I don't want to leave you. Please come with!" She says quickly.
Rubbing my head I groan ignoring the smirk from Loki. "Alright, I'll go with."
"Seems you dislike the Soma familia?" Loki says with a smile.
"If there is one thing I hate worse than being threatened its rapists, and child abusers." I tell her seriously.
"Understandable. Well Finn I'll send Riviera too just to make sure no trouble happens." Loki says with a serious look.
Nodding Finn takes the lead before we head outside with Boko.
"I did not get to admire this creature much the other day, it truly is magnificent." Finn says looking at the yellow bird.
"He is a pretty good companion, we were hunting lizardmen when I heard this one crying for help." I tell him. "Boko makes pretty easy work of them, damn things snapped my sword in half so I had to move to my bigger sword."
"Must be pretty powerful to get through lizardmen scales." Finn says as Riviera pats Boko with a small smile on her face.
"I think he is, I wouldn't want to be on the recieving end of those claws." I comment.
"Me either." Finn chuckles.
We make it to the Soma Familia grounds rather easily and all I can smell is booze.
"I'll stay out here and watch over your mount." Riviera says eying some of the stupid looking drunks ambling around.
It was surprisingly easy to get to meet the Soma god, and with the payment from the Loki familia he released Lili and didn't even care about his dead captain, he just wanted to go back to wine making.
"Loki ate a big loss this time." Finn grins. "She was expecting maybe 100,000 vali in debt max, not 1,000,000."
"She should know better than to agree to things without asking more questions first." Riviera says with a frown.
Finn just shrugs.
Lili was in a daze however. She was free! Her debt was gone! She never had to go back to that wretched place ever!
"What do I do now?" She asks confused.
"Hmm? Whatever you want, your free after all." I tell her.
"But I have nowhere to go?" She still seems confused.
"Well you could join a new familia, though I recommend studying up on which familia you want to join. They really should offer that when you first become an adventurer. Might just end up in some shit family with insane gods on accident." I say with a frown. "Atleast inform them of their personality beforehand."
Her eyes light up. "You are captain of a familia, can I join your family?" She asks eagerly I feel something moving and realize it's her tail.
"Ah, my familia only has me as the only member with my goddess. My goddess has a kind of bad effect on most people." I explain.
"She makes my hair stand on end." Finn admits.
"I figure it's the fear of death that does that, everyone fears death." I reply.
"You don't seem bothered by it." Finn points out.
"I don't fear death." After all it's kind of hard to fear death when I've already died and been dragged into some kind of game show reward area. "Sure I don't want to die, but that doesn't mean I fear death."
"That's...strange." Finn admits. "And kind of scary in it's own way. If you don't fear death what do you fear?"
"Fish, Needles, I seem to have gotten over my fear of heights though." Probably from all the memories I have from dragoons flying or people jumping off buildings or airships.
"Fish?" Finn asks confused.
"They freak me out man, those cold dead eyes, the way they squirm and do that mouth thing." I fight back a shiver.
"And needles?" He questions.
"Anything that can slide into skin that easily is unnatural and gives me the heebie jeebies." that Saw scene with the pit of hypodermic needles man...fuck all that.
"I want to join your familia." Lili says firmly.
"Okay, gotta ask my goddess though if you can." I grin. "If not I'm sure the Loki familia would take you in, after all you cost her a million Valis."
"You know she's going to be pissed at you for that right?" Finn asks with a smirk.
"Serves her right for being a nosey brat. Although I do appreciate her help." i laugh.
"Well seems you need to go speak with your goddess, we will head back on our own and tell our goddess about the completed mission." Finn says.
"Alright, thanks for the help, and tell your nosey goddess I give her my thanks too." I tell the small child like man.
"Alright, see you later then." Finn says.
"Later."
Our small group heads towards our house.
"Wait here Boko I need to take off all your gear." I tell the chocobo.
"Warkk wark!"
Entering the house I take off the massive bag and set it on the ground. "Hel I'm back, I've for someone who wishes to meet you." I call out putting Lili on the ground. "The rest is up to you, if you can't even talk to your future goddess its probably better to join the Loki familia." I tell her honestly.
She gulps slightly but nods as Hel enters the room I see the little girl shiver but firm up.
Grinning i head off to unload Boko of the loot i had gotten from the trio of thugs.
Might have some gear I can use like a new knife or sword. I probably shouldn't have shot that guys dagger, it might have been a good one.
I pull off the saddle bags and saddle and take them inside, Hel and Lili seem to have gone to the living room.
I drop everything and go back for the reins on Boko. "Alright buddy go grab some food."
