Magus in Marvel
Chapter 3 Part 2

Finally arriving at the training floor, I was greeted to the sight of Nixie and Felicia having a friendly spar. Although Nixie held far greater strength coupled with my own understanding of magic, unfortunate circumstances kept leading to narrow misses.
Taking a moment to sense the mana in the air, I could tell Felicia was somehow using her tainted Fate Mana to interfere with Nixie. 'Ah, I got it. She is manipulating fate slightly so Nixie has a bout of bad luck. What a clever usage.'
Clearing my throat to get their attention, the paused mid clash to turn and look at me. "Felicia, I think it's time to teach you subtle casting. Are you ready?"
She avoided my gaze and scratched the side of her face, "Well. . . You see. . . I kinda figured it out on my own."
I crossed my arms and raised my brow for added effect, "Oh? Really? Show m-" I quickly waved my hand and a spatial shield appeared around me, engulfing the large fireball that was launched at me.
"It seems you have, and just to let you in on a secret," I leaned close. "The reason you can't target me with your Fate Magic is because I'm not currently in the same space as you. This is why I wanted you to have the same 'flavor' of mana as me. That way you could make an amazing shield like this at will."
Smiling and shaking my head at the pouting face of my talented pupil, I dispelled my shield. "How are you liking the Purses of Holding?"
Making her way to the side of the training area, Felicia picked up her towel and wiped her sweat away. "I love it, I wish it had more space than my closet but I know if I want another gift I have to do something truly amazing."
'Has she figured me out? I guess it's not difficult to figure out that I like to reward greatness.' I placed my hand in front of my mouth and once again cleared my throat, "Yes, well I already expected you to figure subtle casting on your own." 'I really should have guessed it.' "So you will have to do something else."
"Challenge accepted Master." Felicia held a devilish grin and gathered her things. Ignoring her antics, I made my way over to Nixie.
"Nixie, have you finalized the paperwork for me to finally change my name to its correct spelling? I know we could just have Athena do it, but there are no doubt prying eyes since I have recently come into a lot of wealth and even purchased this building."
Nodding and making her way over to her own Purse of Holding, she removed several papers for me. "The first few documents are for you to sign to finalize your name change. The last few are for the company you wanted Athena to start. Once you sign these documents Athena will have your new signature and will be able to sign things for you."
I quickly signed the first document, now making my name in this world officially Baldur Mikaelson. I handed the finalized papers to Nixie and looked over the next document. 'How about we name it, Baldur Technologies. Short and simple.'
"Here, submit all of these and have Athena alert me once it has been done." I checked the time and exhaled. "Guess I should get ready for this graduation."
I made my way to the residential floor and looked at the cap and gown I was to wear. "This is ridiculous, not even a Sorcerer would wear this." As I complained, Nixie had gotten to work getting me changed.
"I mean seriously, robes need some style and definitely don't need these dumb caps. Hoods are much cooler." I continued to grumble like the old man I truly was and before I knew it I was shaking hands with the Principal while I held my diploma in my left hand.
'Good riddance, finally done with stupid highschool. A school filled with people and I had only found four other potential apprentices. Eugene was a diamond in the rough, Peter was an untapped mind with strange spider-like abilities. That Cindy held similar power, but she stopped going to school. Oh yes, and Jessica. She had that crush on Peter didn't she? Fate had something grand in store for her but I couldn't tell.'
Putting aside the lack of potential prospects, I roamed the streets of New York after tossing my cap and gown in the garbage. As I was about to exit the alley I had entered to make use of the dumpster, I heard a scuffle of sorts coming from behind me.
With a light Russian accent a man behind me spoke, "If you don't get back to work I swear to God! We'll do a lot more than violate you and force you to sell your body."
I was keen on ignoring the commotion behind me, but at the mention of prostitution my blood boiled. Unsavory memories of my drunkard father forcing my Step-Mother to sell her body so he could pay for booze filled me and without thinking I approached the figures in the dark.
A faint exit light illuminated the dirty concrete floor and brick walls of the building that flanked the sides of the alley. I could see the faces of the two men who stood tall over a cowering woman.
The two men wore black button up shirts and similar black coats. The man on the left held a large knife and the one on the right was slightly leaned forward. In his grasp was the arm of the downed woman.
Although I couldn't see her face, I could see her lithe frame. She looked to have the build of a dancer, but her sizable bust told a different story. She held long hair that was so white it put Felicia's mane to shame, although currently it was covered in dirt.
My anger continued to boil as I made my way over to the group and it reached its apex when I witnessed the man with the knife move closer to the woman. "That is quite enough."
Not even bothering to continue my charade of using my arms to cast spells, I simply thought about what I wanted. I imagined space locking the two men in place, then simply whitelisted only the men themselves. A sickening grin formed on my face as I watched them silently scream in agony as everything that was not 'them' left the space they were locked into.
Not even bothering to continue with them, I took out a jacket from my Bag of Holding and wrapped it around the stunned and still cowering woman. "It's alright now. Come with me and I'll get you a place to stay for the night. We can figure everything out tomorrow."
Without waiting for a response, I thought about my residential floor and appeared in a flash, shocking Nixie. I looked towards her and spoke, "Take care of her, I shall be back."
'Time to torture those ants for reminding me of my cursed father.' With a scowl and a thought, I was back in the alley with the two frozen men. They looked terrible, their skin was deathly pale and they looked withered.
Electing not to speak, I thought about what to do with them next. 'They must suffer. Oh, I have an Idea. I needed test subjects anyway.' "Let's see how well humans fare if I isolate the space around certain body parts and move that around. Can you survive with your heart on your chest? Everything will work as normal, I assure you boys."
After a few hours of experimenting in a subspace I had created to conceal my tests, I returned to my room with more than half of my own reserves of mana used up. "Athena, start 'Project Sol.' I need reliable mana reserves to advance quickly and use magic for extended periods without relying on potions."
I rubbed my temples and decided to check up on my new guest. Sending out a pulse of mana, I was able to tell what room she was in. Making my way over, I quickly stopped at the kitchen to grab myself a snack.
