Capítulo 123: Toxic people

With no further ado, Xia lunged at Antoni, only to change the direction of the attack mid-step and stab at Hugo, who moved to intercept her. Her knife flew under Hugo's arm like a silver flash and went right towards his chest, only to bounce off with a sharp clang.

In the next moment, Hugo's punch flew at Xia's head, forcing her to dodge away and Celina to suck in a sharp breath. The man's enormous fist went only a hair-breadth away from Xia's ear before she jumped a step away from him.

Hugo laughed. "Did you try to tickle me with your tiny kitchen knife, girl? You can say thanks to the Chief for my superpower!"

Celina swallowed, her heart racing in her chest. Hugo's superpower was metallising his body. When met with damage-inducing force, his nanites formed a protective carapace over his skin. One that, apparently, was strong enough to protect from Xia's attacks.
