Capítulo 42: Commitments

Anna raised an apprehensive eyebrow.

"Commitment issue, huh? Are you scared of getting left behind?"

Brett Prestman leaned against the leather couch, his expression thoughtful. It was as if he was trying to think what to say, or at least how to explain himself.

"Why would I trap myself in a relationship and get blamed for doing something the other deemed inappropriate? I'll only be giving myself a major headache."

"So, you only had flings? Interesting."

The server came back carrying a bucket with a champagne bottle on it and two wine glasses, as Brett Prestman requested. Dropping off the items, he bowed his head and left, tending to the counter and went on to do his job.

Uncorking the bottle, Brett Prestman poured enough liquor for him and Anna. With a gentle push, he gestured towards the filled glass.

"Why don't we share a toast first?"
