Capítulo 58: Heavenly Twins
After listening to their story, Alex asked them "May I look at your shack? I am truly interested in the things inside and how they work." the pair agreed and went inside their house to show Alex their research. As they went inside the house, Alex was in awe in ehat he saw. He saw a lot of different plants with different lab equipment which can make the plants do different things and cure different diseases. "Woah! I did not know that you could do this to the plant to increase the effictiveness to cure this type of poison! Do you also work on poison?" asked Alex as he saw a lot of potential in recruiting these two. 'Wherever these two go they can make a big impact. The Kingdom of Alabasta truly missed out because of their stupid Nobles. Well, I would like them in my crew so that they could research in peace, I could also use their research and help them, and I could have talks with them since I am also interested in their research.' Alex smiled as he thought of the faces of the Nobles in Alabasta knowing that they truly f****** up in throwing away these two.
He then looked at the brother's side of the house, and what he saw amazed him. He saw a loads of weapons that were never seen before and mixtures of weapons that could be effective but he did not know that yet. "So Axel, do you use the forge for all of these? Where do you get your ideas from?" asked Alex as he heard Axel's reply "I don't really know because they just pop into my head. I don't really know if they work or somthing. I just do what ever I want and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't." Alex was impressed in the craftsmanship of Axel and he knew that Axel's potential has not been tapped. "Axel, do you only do forging or do you also do other professions?" asked Alex because he was beginning to think that if he missed out on these two exceptional minds, then he would regret his whole life. "Well anything you can craft I can probably make it. So yeah, I can tailor sometimes and do other stuff. You can probably call me a master in anything crafting because I can make anything." said Axel. Alex couldn't believe it but did as soon as Lexa said "Well, what he said was true as everyone in Alabasta would gather in front of his shop for days just to get something made from him. And for me, everyone would want to get cured by me that I almost get overwhelmed by the number of people getting cured. This is because of my reputation as I have cured everyone that comes to my clinic." Alex was not even reacting because these two were amazing and it looked like it was a given for them to be that amazing. 'Some people are really blessed by the heaves for having such skill and actually putting it to use.' thought Alex as he was convinced to recruit them into the crew. But he would get to know them first before doing so, so that they would not get uncomfortable with him and the crew.
After introducing themselves with each other, Alex was now helping them with their research since he was knowledgable with these types of things because he likes to read a lot of books. At first the twins did not wnat him to help but they could see that Alex knows his stuff and needs to adjust only in a short period of time if he was unfamiliar with one equipment. He contributed to the minor parts of the research but it was a big contribution because it helped thw twins big time. Plus, he really was not a true researcher so it was big either way coming from a pirate. After helping them, the twins offered Alex to sleep in the house and Alex accepted since they were not the type to kill while someone was sleeping.
Alex woke up early this morning to go back to the cave and start his training again. He eklt on trying to make the marks cover his whole body to conplete the second stage, but he still couldn't do it and is currently stuck. "Damn, I still can't do it. Oh well, maybe in the fight I will master it. I will just train my body again and maybe if my strength is sufficient, then I can finally master the second stage." said Alex as he continued to train his body because he thought that it was because of his inadequate strength and stamina that he could not master the second stage. He kept training until the night and continued to help the twins to repay them for letting him sleep in their house. He also learned a lot from the two youngsters. 'Man, I still can't believe they're just twenty years old. They're really smart and creative people.' thought Alex as he looked at the twins who were concentrated in their research.
This routine continued on for days and until Alex's battle with the giants. As the day of the battle came, Alex went to talk with the twins. "Axel and Lexa, I am leaving today to fight with the giants." the twins already knew what he was training for and wished him luck with a saddened face because even if they were only together for a few days, they were very close friends or even siblings already. As they were about to go inside their house to continue their research, Alex called out "Do you both want to join me?" the twins were confused and asked "Join you? Where? To the battle with the giants? No way! We would like to keep our lives thank you very much." said Lexa as she was shocked that Alex would want to bring them there. Alex chuckled and said "Nah, not in the battle. What I meant was, join my crew and we can conduct research and experiments all day and travel to different islands to get to know more about the world. So, what do you say?" the twins were surprised at Alex's offer and wanted to go with him since they were research buddies. But they thought about the duel with the giants and the thought that he might die there so they said "We will join you. But you have to beat the giants first, so when we are at sea you can guarantee our safety. And you might die in the duel so we can't really follow a dead man." Alex brightened up at the first sentence but after hearing the succeeding ones, he became more determined to win the duel as he would recruit the 'Heavenly Twins' of the Kingdom of Alabasta. "Alright, you got yourself a deal. Be ready to join my ship as I will win the duel." and left the twins for the duel with the giants as he does not want to be late. The twins then packed up their stuff as they already expected Alex to win but just wanted to have a bet with him.
