How could Eden possibly think that was pathetic? Being afraid of fire after all that was 100% justifiable. Jonah said that those thoughts were frequent whenever he was reminded of fire…did that include every time he looked in a mirror? 

How awful would it be to be reminded of your worst experience every time you saw yourself? No wonder he was so self-conscious about his face. It reminded him of what he had lost whenever he saw it. 

What a nightmarish thing for a seven-year-old to experience. It wasn't as if he could forget about it so easily either since he had surgeries as he continued to grow like Troy had said before. 

It made sense that he never mentioned his siblings to her. He had been holding one of them when he died. Even if he didn't now, he had probably felt responsible for that for a long time.
