Troy kept an eye on Eden for the rest of the night and noticed that while she talked and danced with a lot of people that she stuck particularly close to the guy he originally spotted her with. What was she playing at? Did she care about Jonah at all or had she been stringing him along all this time?

And here he had labored under the delusion that she might actually be different and like him for who he was. If she could change her mind after a few weeks of limited contact, she never deserved him in the first place.

He couldn't let Jonah know about this. He was torn up enough about deceiving Eden and having to leave her behind. He didn't have to mention that he saw her at all.
