Serenica was not in a position to decline any help she could get, but John getting his fingers crushed would not constitute as helping her. She had to put an end to any heroic fantasies the pirate had.

"Every time you do something I even slightly dislike…anything at all…"

Kinley waved a big pair of shears towards John.

"I will be generous. I will start with his fingers."

"All right, you got it, you will have whatever you want," Serenica said with the coldest tone she could muster.

John looked at her with such a pitiful expression that she nearly cracked, but her resolve was stronger than her need to appear like a good person.

"I would rather have my men run over you, but apparently they are not capable of that, so, I will side with the strongest and the most credible option," the healer said.
