All did not go as expected. Some of those who had suffered from an irresistible desire to steal corna out of the supplies claimed that thrushberry extract helped them immensely. However, Ed was not one of them. He complained about mood swings, low motivation and a dozen other maladies of the mind.

While Serenica had always thought of herself as immune to most of those things, she had to admit after a few snide remarks from the inventor genius that she was not, in fact, as untouchable as she had always thought. After all, she had come very close to ending her own life, she had a nervous temperament and while drunk, she was quick to anger. She started to wonder if she, too, should take advantage of the berries, but the extract wasn't cheap.

She pondered her options with Ed. Of course she could just let him do what he wanted to do, but that could be lethal in the long run.
