Capítulo 19: Chapter 18

'Where am I?' Conor asked once his eyes came to focus and the shock went away.

'No, you don't ask questions now. What did the heck happen to you? You looked beat when you showed up last night.' Mr. Atlas asked back, demanding an answer. Conor tried hard to remember what happened but he couldn't. His mind was filled with the thought of the realm.

'Uh, I don't really remember.' Conor said as he checked himself out. It was a shock to see a bloody bandage on his bare chest and one of his ankles was rolled up like a mummy. Conor tried to muster all the things he was seeing but he failed. He tried to get up and sit.

'Woah, stop. You need to keep lying down. A doctor came by last night and gave you all the treatments you needed. The doctor asked me to make you rest and make sure you don't move too much.' Mr. Atlas explained. Conor listened and obeyed.

'Can you tell me what happened?' Mr. Atlas asked. Conor was still struggling to recall any memories from the previous night. Suddenly, a loud shattering noise came from the kitchen. A glass bowl had fallen to the floor broke. That sound reminded Conor of the breaking window.

'Yes, um Mr. Atlas. Has anyone been to the lab today?' Conor asked.

'No, it's Sunday. Why?' Mr. Atlas asked back.

'I got ambushed by two shooters last night in the lab. They literally pulverized all the things. I escaped by jumping from the window and then took my car here.' Conor asked. Mr. Atlas was stunned.

Without another word, Mr. Atlas stood up and left the room. Conor was bamboozled. He tried to call him back but to no avail. After a while, Mr. Atlas came back and sat down next to the bed.

'Are you sure what you said is true?!' Mr. Atlas asked in a loud voice.

'W-what, of course I'm telling the truth.' Conor replied.

'Explain this then.' Mr. Atlas said while holding up a tablet. The screen showed CCTV footage picturing Conor coming in with a rifle and shooting around and causing all the damages done.

Conor felt like his eyes were lying to him. He clearly remembered the two men. Mr. Atlas turned the tablet off and stood up.

'Wait, where are you going? That wasn't me! I remember the two shooters! I'm not lying, for god's sake, why would I do that?!' Conor exclaimed.

'Congratulations, you are now a wanted criminal. You can tell what you have to say to the FBI.' Mr. Atlas said and left, locking the door behind him so that Conor couldn't escape.
