The sunrise touches the grounds of the flower shop. Gaia, now a young lady with light brown locks, pulls the blinds of the flower shop that showed the vibrant colors of the flowers' petals that painted the place.
The greenhouse behind the shop is her sanctuary. Assorted plants that blossom from left to right. Gaia takes care of them as her children as her late grandmother showed her in her younger years. She waters them as she moves from one pot to another, from roses to Baby's Breath, asters to carnation. She checks every petal of the flowers to see if they are still fresh or they need to be moved to a separate pot.
A bell rang from the door and footsteps were tapping inside the store. Gaia was alerted that someone came inside the store. She put down the watering can and went inside the store with furrowed eyebrows.
She looked at the entrance of the store and saw a gentleman in his mid-20's, scanning the shop from all directions. He wears an oversized hoodie, gray sweatpants, and white sneakers. His hair had curly locks with an undercut. He has celebrity-like features that you see in the magazines for his porcelain, dewy skin.
Gaia's heart thumped underneath her chest. She felt feverish. Her breaths were unstable as she observes the man in her shop. He noticed the young florist and showed his smile that lit up the store. His charming looks enchanted Gaia and made her oblivious from her duties.
"I was looking for a flower shop and the locals say that you sell the freshest flowers in the area," the man said.
Gaia shook her head as she goes back to reality, breaking the spell that this man has. She tries to smile as she tells herself to calm down. She tries not to stutter in front of him.
"Yes, we do! Are you planning to buy some flowers?" Gaia asked enthusiastically.
The man shyly nods his head. Gaia found his response adorable for a full-grown man. She shows him the flowers that were displayed. Different kinds of flowers were flaunting their beauty that sparked a curiosity in the man. He was captivated by its fresh petals with full and vibrant colors.
The young florist started asking questions to the gentleman. She wanted to break the awkward emotions as silence filled the shop before he came. The man checks every flower in the shop and he found them all beautiful in their way. The man had difficulty choosing which flower that suits best. He decided to give details to Gaia.
"I am planning to confess my love to someone and I thought giving her a bouquet would be a wonderful idea," the young man said.
A sudden sting pierced into her heart. Her chest was suffocating from the pain of being broken for the second time. She wanted to retain her composure as she assists him. She stood straight and walked him through each of the flowers.
The man came across a pot filled with camellias. It had different colors, white, red, and pink. He wondered if these flowers will be a perfect gift for the girl he strongly adore. Gaia thought of jumping in to help him.
"I would recommend choosing the white camellias," Gaia said. The man looked at her and became intrigued by her words. "Camellias symbolize love, affection, and admiration. Each color has its meaning. White camellias symbolize adoration and it is usually given to someone they like. Pink camellias are given to someone they missed. Lastly, red camellias symbolize passion, love, and deep desire."
The man was astonished at how Gaia explained the flower and its definition. He decided to choose the white camellias. Gaia reached towards the pot and grabbed five of them and held the flowers by their stems. She asked him if there is anything else that he would like to add. The man bobbed his head and started moving to the other flowers beside the camellias. He saw a pot full of rare lavender roses.
"Ah, lavender roses," Gaia added. "this is a delicate flower that symbolizes enchantment and love at first sight."
He was dumbfounded on Gaia was quite knowledgeable about her work. He decided to have them as well. Gaia took five roses and five camellias from their pots and asked if he would like to get more. The man shook his head and told her that he is happy with his choices. Gaia smiled and walks to her work table behind the counter with the flowers in her hands.
The man observes Gaia as she places the flowers in front of her. She took some leaves to add to the bouquet. She then grabs a sheet of purple crepe paper and wraps the flowers on their stems. She then took a lavender-colored ribbon to tie the flowers to keep him secured. Gaia gave the flower to the man gently and the man was in awe as he accepts the flower
"These are beautiful. Thank you," the man said.
-"You're welcome," Gaia replied.
"How much is it?"
-"That will be 45,000.00 KSW."
The man nodded his head and quickly took his wallet out and handed his credit card to Gaia. Gaia took his card and felt a a slight touch in his hand. She hides her face as she blushes and tries not to be awkward. She took the time to read his name as she swiped the card from the register.
"Harry Jung?" Gaia asked.
-"Yes?"
"Please sign here," Gaia said and she showed a small piece of paper that has the amount that he needed to pay. She pointed to the blank space at the bottom for him to sign it. Harry took his pen out and placed his signature on the document.
"Come again soon," Gaia said.
"I will," Harry replied. He went out of the store with the bouquet in his hand. Gaia watches him disappear from the shop's window. She could hear the wind coming in to the store. She sighed and went back to the garden as she continues her deeds. She understands fully that he is just another customer.
