It had already stopped raining when they reached. "Thank-you David, My home's here." She says, stopping at the corner of the street. It was surrounded by small apartment buildings. David thought that they looked way older than his grandfather's age. He looked around and realized that he has been here before but never noticed the area this closely. It wasn't much developed, the buildings looked shabby, the street was too thin and way up hilly and not to mention too empty and strange. He hadn't expected her to live in such a place. "I live just up there." She says, pointing up to a balcony of an apartment across the street.
"I guess this is it then..." David puts a hand inside his pocket while the other holds the closed umbrella in his hand.
"This is it." She says, looking down to her feet.
"So, I expect to hear the whole story tomorrow about the girl?" He asks, expectantly.
"Maybe." She didn't sound sure. "You should get going now." She says, looking up at him again.
"I will once you get inside." Sabrina shakes her head at him.
"It's my turn now I'll watch you leave from here." David snorts.
"It's not safe to remain here, it's better you get inside first."
"I come and go all day alone from here David. It's no big deal." David expression turned serious. He wasn't smiling anymore but concerned. He was having a strange feeling, a feeling which made him happy and mad at the same time. He wanted to protect this girl but it also confused him why hadn't he felt the same way when he was with Katherine.
"What about your mother? Doesn't she protest about you coming so late and alone?"
"My mother isn't home until midnight. She works as a full-time maid and also a part-time job. And when I said I wasn't rich I meant a common person who works hard to live." She laughs lightly. "Aren't I being too chatty on our first meeting?" she suggests.
"Not at all, this poor stalker intent no harm." He says, raising a hand in the air and receives a chuckle from her.
"You must have gone out of your way..." David comes closer.
"Not at all, my home is near from here." He says, moving closer.
"Really?" Her voice, a little slow.
"Yeah, maybe our destiny has something to do with this." He leans closer.
"Maybe..." David closes the distance between them. She tilts her head and slowly closes her eyes
