He swallowed and took a step closer to me. I could see the worry in his eyes. I just looked at him. I wonder if he would finally be sincere to me or he was going to tell me another lie.

"Wait how would I know if he is lying?" I asked myself. He took my hands and repeated what he told me earlier while I was acting like I was sleeping.

"so you spent your whole afternoon with your ex and daughter?" I asked. I wanted to ask if they felt like a complete family when they eat lunch together but I bit my tongue to stop myself. Honestly, I was not willing to hear the answer.
