58% Asher's Destiny / Chapter 29: 029 | Draconian Slave

Capítulo 29: 029 | Draconian Slave

I woke Lisha up in a dirty and rotten cell. Behind the thick and plentiful metal bars.

She woke up rubbing her eyes. How adorable. Funny that she took a nap, the slave traders did move around for a few hours before plopping us out of the bag.

"H-huh? Asher? Are we already here?"

I nodded, "Look around us."

This was obviously some sort of underground facility. The only exit is the giant metal door on the middle of the shortest side of the wall. If you were to walk in through that door, you would see a long line of cells on both sides.

Each cell holds a number between three to six children. Luckily, Lisha and I were placed together.

Half-Beasts, Humans, and I think that's a Draconian too. These bastards must be enjoying their luxurious life making money by selling children.

I reached into my inventory and poured my mana into the communication device that was given to me. I had alerted the AU of our location, now it's only a matter of time.

Lisha asked an obvious question.

"Now that we're here, are we ONLY going to wait?"

"Of course not. If there's something to do that will benefit us in the long run, then it shall be done."

"Such as?"

"Well, we'll see."

Laughter could be heard audibly outside the metal door. A group composed fully of disgusting middle-aged men opened the door and entered.

"Hehe, who wants to volunteer today?"

"The boss is quite happy. We'll be sending twice as much of you today! Be cheerful! You'll finally find a new home!"

The children whimpered and some started to cry, albeit very quietly. I can already infer that they were whipped or beaten whenever they annoyed the slave traders with their cries.

"Lisha. Looks like we'll already have something to do. Raise your hand for me."

"W-why?"

"Don't worry. I'm going to prepare a few spells so that the AU can also locate where they're sending the children off to. I'll need one of them to get close to us."

"Aha~ It's because I have a cute and adorable face, right??"

She awaited my answer like a puppy waiting for a snack.

I smiled, "Of course."

Her face reddened again. I'll have to look into her strange sudden fevers.

Lisha brushed her hair back and batted her eyes. She raised her hand to everyone's surprise. A few children had a perturbed expression.

Lisha and I were already the odd ones out. The rest of the children all had the same clothing. Fabric that was worn out. It was a dark and dirty brown color, thin as well; not providing enough warmth, evident of their shivering.

The Draconian kid was the calmest child here. He had blue scaly skin and had two black protruding horns on both sides of his forehead. With his wavy white hair, he also has a menacing pair of reptilian eyes. He has been observing Lisha and me ever since we arrived.

He must be heavily suppressing his mana as to not stand out. Anyone with the ability to hide their mana to such an extent is stronger than those who blatantly show their power. Well, that's usually the case.

"Oh ho~ A volunteer, eh?"

"That's the new kids recently brought in, right?"

"She has a nice face."

A man walked over, "Let's take a closer examination."

His eyes were filled with evil intentions. Before he could touch Lisha, I activated my spell. A small magic circle formulated itself behind the man's neck. That would be a tracking spell.

I pretended to grab Lisha under the guise of protecting her and pushed the man's hands away.

Now that I physically made contact with him, my other spell was now underway. He's essentially under my control. I moved my fingers slightly as if I was controlling a mannequin.

"N-nevermind, this girl's already impure. I can tell."

The other men laugh as I sent this person back.

"You did it so much that you can already tell, eh?"

Ridiculous. Now it's only a matter of time before the AU arrives.

Originally, I planned to have started some sort of riot to buy time but it seems it's not needed. A magic circle appeared below the slave traders and pressured water shot up.

"Quick! Activate the switch!"

One of the slave traders grabbed a remote control with a button. Upon pressing it, the Water Spell no longer persisted.

I saw a black marble bracelet shine for a second. There were two of them wrapped around each wrist of the blue-scaled Draconian. It seemed to send a sudden shock to the child as the magic circle shrunk and dissolved.

So even the slave traders are aware that a Draco is a threat.

I wonder how they managed to catch the kid either way. Did they think something along the lines of:

Oh wow, a blue scaly kid, I'm SURE he'll sell for a lot.

The Draconian yelled in pain as he hit the floor repeatedly. The slaver deactivated the button and walked over to the cell that the Draco was in.

"How does that feel, Alp?"

So the Draco's name is Alp, huh?

"Asher, should we do something?"

Lisha glared at the slave traders who were now laughing at the pitiable sight of the Draconian on his knees. They turned his bracelet on and off in different intervals. These people are no longer humans, they are the lowest of the low.

"Hold on for now."

Lisha took her hand out of her shirt. If I had allowed her to proceed, she would have instantly thrown several throwing daggers. Lisha clicked her tongue.

"Tsk."

I know how you feel. It certainly doesn't put you in a good mood watching this unfold. I have to admit, Lisha is far more mature than I initially gauged. As if she's also experienced what I have.

"Soon."

The Draconian, Alp, retaliated, "Can't you fight me like a man?! You f*cking p*ssy!"

What a profane manner of talking. I glanced at Lisha.

"W-what? Why are you looking at me?"

I grinned and said, "Nothing."

The slave traders all laughed.

"You think we're that dumb enough to fight you? You Draconians are so full of pride!"

"We're in this for the money, like we care whether we use methods like this."

"If any of us had a gun to blast your skull open, we certainly would."

"Boss doesn't like damaged goods, though you're already damaged in the head it seems."

Alp screamed as he leaped at the cell.

The other children were already backed away in the corners, shaking in fear.

"Go to hell! F*cking humans!"

The button was pressed and Alp tumbled down to his knees as he kept his firm grip on the metal bars. The only thing separating him and the slave traders.

"Asher..."

"A few more minutes, Lisha. The AU will come here personally."

Let's spice things up a bit then. I pushed my palm in the direction of the blue Draco.

"Rejuvenate. Physical Enhancement. Corrode."

I sent three separate spells in Alp's direction. Rejuvenation and Physical Enhancement Magic healed his wounds while making him stronger. Corrosion Magic rapidly breaks away the metal bars that the Draconian is gripping.

Alp must have sensed something because he looked me in the eyes once he felt power return to his body.

It's a good thing none of these slave traders awakened their ability to use magic, otherwise, they would have sensed something.

"Tch. Humans are weird."

Alp tightly clenched the metallic bars and ripped them apart, giving him enough space to get out.

The slave traders panicked.

"W-what the hell!? How did this happen?"

"I swear the metal bars just started rusting all of a sudden!"

"Bullsh*t! This little b*tch must have used a spell!"

"Damned Draconian! Curse you and your Turquoise Lineage!"

Alp broke free and immediately stole the remote from the slave trader's hands.

He moved quickly, it was fast even WITH an enhancement spell. I judged the size of his horns and facial features according to what Patricia had taught me. Alp's horns aren't as defined and grown out as Eugene's or Etho's, that's all I really need to discern that Alp is probably around my age.

Alp's hands turned into that of a dragon's claws. What did those slave traders say before?

The Turquoise Lineage?

If I were to guess, then Alp is a completely different Draconian "variant" when you bring Etho and Eugene in for comparison. Maybe Alp's lineage allowed him to transform parts of his body into a dragon's?

Truth be told, I'm not sure. Etho and Eugene never were really talkative nor have I ever seen either of them fight. IF they can transform, then it's safe to assume that all Draconian's are capable of transforming.

I sighed. The mutt is really behind then.

The slave traders panicked and took out their weapons. Daggers or brass knuckles were the only options they had. They cautiously approached Alp, but I know for a fact there was no way they could restrain him now.

Alp tilted one side of his mouth and laughed. He didn't sound as young as us but that's just how Draconians are. They've always been known as a superior race with abnormal qualities compared to the norm.

"What? Scared now that you lost your little toy?"

"Shut up lizard! We don't need a silly bracelet to defeat you!"

I made sure that the slave trader I branded with a tracking spell would make their way to where they originally promised to go to sell slaves. This way, we can properly rip this organization out by the roots.

The slavers rushed Alp. Unfortunately for them, Alp went right past the slave traders in a quick zigzagged pattern.

All the men stopped in place, including Alp. Once the Draconian turned around, his hands turned back to normal. The slave traders then started dropping one by one.

Normal people wouldn't have witnessed such speeds but to Lisha and me, we were able to tell that Alp struck each slave trader's chest so hard it was enough to deal damage to the heart directly. This is a technique way harder to perform in contrast to simply ripping their heads off with those sharp claws.

However, I was glad he chose to do the more difficult option. Enslaved children were still here and terrified. Giving them more trauma by letting them witness blood spewing out of someone's neck isn't PARTICULARLY the best move.

Alp looked at Lisha and me behind our cells. His reptilian eyes seemed warm and comforting. Standing up, he was slightly shorter than me. He bent his knees and looked at us.

I guess he should be thanking-

"Are you a goddess, my lady?"

Ah, he was just looking at Lisha. He paid no attention to me, whatsoever.

The "goddess" wasn't even paying attention.

"H-huh, what? Y-you mean me?"

Lisha pointed to herself with a confused face.
