As my senses slowly return they begin to bombard my mind with a plethora of smells, sights, sounds, tastes and textures.
I can feel a connection to the earth itself, which isn't really surprising given the species name.
As I breathe in the fresh wind it begins to cool my nerves as it passes through my new fur. I look around to see at least a hundred flowers blossoming around the small field with at least 17 different colours. I can hear birds chirping cheerfully and rustles from different creatures all around me. I can feel the soothing atmosphere wash over me again and again like the tide. I can smell honey, the sea and is that? Oh, that's... that's, Oh.

Nope, just push that to the back of my mind. The gruelling stench was never there.
I glance right to see Jake and Dad are, they're either going through evolution or sleeping... if they're actually sleeping they'll be punished.

I feel the ground turn to mud and slowly snake along my fur to cover my body. I feel like I forgot something. I look down to see my clothes are on the ground intact.
Ah. That's what it was, at least they're not damaged so it's fine to put them back on.
"How long is this going to take damn it." I think out loud.

I look down to see an orange slime, a cute one.
"Who are you." I ask while realising that the rock is covering most of my body now.
"Me? My name is, wait is the rock going faster?"
I look back to realise it is, it's going faster. Is that good or bad.
"Mind not letting people near this? I'll talk to you after this is done." I ask the slime.
"Hmm? Wait how long is this going to take?" The orange blob responds.
"No idea."
"What? Wait I want to talk to someone!"

I'm... awake.
I'm... alive.
I'm... bare. Oh god.
I hurriedly put on my clothes and look around.
"Phew." I sigh.
I stand up slowly and walk over to my family, who are sleeping... I'll punish them later. For now, where's that slime that I promised to talk to.
"You're not a statue anymore." A voice speaks from below me.
I look down to see the slime below me. I bend down and see that it's not just orange but there are splotches of red and yellow in different areas that make the orange seem lighter or darker in places.
"No, I am no longer a statue." I say.
While sitting down with my legs crossed the slime asks. "Do you have a title? I can't see your status."
"Title? Yeah I do, although I don't see why it's so good. It does nothing for me." I answer.
Caution to the wind, my sibling and father are sleeping and I'm bored so I might as well talk to the slime.
"What is it, and does it have to do with one of the seven sins or virtues?" The slime asks.
"Two things. First, you forgot to tell me your name."
"Xue Amari Kempf, what's the second thing?"
"Shue Amari Kemp? Is that how you say it?"
"Well, yes but actually no. It's how you say it but not how you spell it. What's the second thing."
"Eh, what are the seven sins."
"..."
"..."
"Are you joking?"
"No." My voice deflates.
Shue seems to be melting a bit, I think he's sighing, is he a he?
"The seven sins are, and listen close. Gluttony. Pride. Greed. Lust. Sloth. Envy. Wrath." Shue responds with a patient demeanour.
"Right, no my title doesn't have anything to do with those."
"What? What is it then." Shue asks with a curious note in their voice.
"It says 'One who did not choose' is that special or something?" I say.
Shue's body starts trembling, did I say something wrong? Is that bad?
"Shue, are you okay?" I ask with sweat beginning to form along my hairline.
"I'm... I'm. ELATED!" Shue shouts with enough volume to make birds fly off the birch branches.
"Why? It doesn't do anything good..."
"WHAT NONSENSE! YOU GET 20 TIMES THE NORMAL STATS!!"
"TOO LOUD!"
"Sorry, seriously though why isn't it good. The system says you get 20 times the status."
"I'm sorry what?"
"You get 20 times the status."

"Ah, that's because I'm a 'King' and the system is biased."

"The system spoke." I say shocked.
"It did. As for your title can you explain why the title is bad?" Shue asks.

"I'll just explain, the title makes it so I have -95% stats until the timer is up. It's a 'test' is what the system says." I say.
I feel a chill go down my spine and look around me but see nothing dangerous. I look back at Shue who seems shaken and... wait. Is Shue blue now or is that just me?
"Hey bear." Shue speaks.
"Who are you calling a bear!" I shout back.
With a calm voice Shue asks, "I don't know your name and I have a question for you."
"Oh, it's Ellery... what's the question?" I respond.
"Ellery, would you be my 'Queen'?"
"Eh?"
WHAT?
"Ellery! You're awake!" Jake shouts.
"Jake? Weren't you sleeping?"
"Was. Now come help with the forge!"
