After gathering my things, locking the shop back up, and walking a full twenty minutes back to Ashlyn's apartment hand in hand. It felt like a breath of fresh air when we came back together to settle once again, I found my clean clothes on her bed and headed into the shower without her joining me as we both agreed on the walk that isn't time for fooling around especially for the plans that Ashlyn had wanting to move forward. She opened up about her childhood with her siblings, parents, and everything that she enjoyed about being a coffee addict along with being a bookworm.
I had rushed out of the shower though I could have stayed in that hot water all day. It has better water than her own place and at least hers don't run out. Putting on my low cut pink tank top, tight blue jeans, along with my socks and shoes then running a comb through my short hair. I felt so much better. That is when Ashlyn came in and smiled.
"My turn, I will see you in a bit. Walking to that coffee shop of yours can wear a person out." Ashlyn said, still smiling, then kissed my cheek.
I felt my cheeks turn such a pink hue or was that from the shower that I had to get out of that bathroom before I saw more than she's willing to let me see. Walking back into her dining room to see our breakfast was still left out, so I decided to reheat in the microwave for both and reheat our coffee's that deserve attention too. Watching Ashlyn come out in a brand new outfit that looked so gorgeous on her figure it made my mouth water but I held back any urges in respect of her.
"That dress looks so beautiful on you with those tight black pants." I blurted out not being able to contain myself from staring her up and down.
"I love lace tops on dresses, they have a lovely feel against my skin and I can't wait to wear this out of here today since it came in a few days ago." Ashlyn replied with a smirk.
"I have, um, reheated everything. I want to enjoy our food again and be able to sit across from each other even in silence." I responded by biting my bottom lip with my nerves setting back in.
I watched Ashlyn move with ease to her chair then waited for me to also take my seat. We both ate our breakfast quietly, enjoying our food that was cold hours ago and now it is an early lunch so to speak being that it is almost midday. Finishing our breakfast, that is when Ashlyn finally said something.
"We had plans early this morning but that changed with everything that went down. We can still go to the place that I know you will love or we can hang out here today for your comfort until you are ready to go out officially." Ashlyn offered with a little sadness in her voice.
"I am willing to go anywhere with you. I am more comfortable and not as broken inside as I presumed to be." I replied.
"I do have to know something. Did you experience heartbreak long before I came along and you haven't been able to date since?" Ashlyn asked curiously.
"Well, um, you see that isn't the issue. I have never dated a woman or man to know what is acceptable in my world. I know I am attracted to women but never said it out loud." I felt myself wanting to shrink after revealing the only thing Shayne knew.
"Juliet, I have dated men but never felt a mutual connection like I do with you. You are my Barista that I have had a crush on for a while now but I don't consider myself straight as I told you earlier this morning." Ashlyn explained gently.
I took a deep breath once more to let myself feel some kind of relief to know that I am her first attraction though that seems scary to think.
"Have you dated women? Like explore?" I asked nervously.
"I have wanted too but it never came about. So, technically you are the first." Ashlyn replied, winking at her.
We ended the discussion then took the opportunity to leave the apartment to head to Ashlyn's place that she wanted to show me and we got to drive back in her car again. I have finally felt relieved that we are both experiencing something new for the first as in dating the same-sex.

Approaching our destination it looked like another coffee shop but with way more of a bookstore added to it. I looked at Ashlyn with a raised eyebrow thinking that she isn't having us go into possibly another competitive shop that offers the same goods as mine.
"Why are we here?" I asked her knowing she would give me the best answer possible to resolve my nerves.
"Don't you love books and coffee or did I miss something from our connection last night?" Ashlyn replied with a smile across her face.
"Well, yes, but this is a competitive shop that I deal with." I responded by biting the inside of my cheek.
"This isn't work related. We are here for fun. So, ease yourself and join me on this." Ashlyn replied with a gentle voice like a mom to reassure her child it is safe to explore outside a little. "I will come open the door for you, stay put."
I watched as she pulled the keys out of the ignition and got out so she could help me out of her car gently. We walked into the shop holding hands without anyone batting an eye though it didn't last when some lady came up to Ashlyn with a glare.
"I hope you two are just friends because holding hands like that isn't wise." The lady said.
Ashlyn glared at the woman with no response but her eyes said so much that made me wonder if it was safe to keep holding her hand, so I squeezed and she returned it then raised my hand to her lips leaving a little sensation running through my veins. The bigoted woman walked out of the shop without saying anything else to them and Ashlyn turned to smile at me, her delightful bright smile that lit the room. We went to explore the back where the books were without the sight of everyone in the shop.
