The star system next door was rather peculiar. It was a binary star system!

A G star¹ which was similar to the sun, and a white dwarf, ²which looked like the earth, were the main astronomical objects of this star system.

By exerting gravitational forces upon one another, they orbited around a common center of mass.

The sun that controls the solar system is also a G star, a class of main-sequence stars.

As for this G star, it had a mass of 1.0 to 1.4 times that of the sun. 

On the other hand, a white dwarf is a high-density star formed when a G star's core collapses at the end of its cycle.
