Jace eyes found mine again, he looked at me weird. “Are you sure you're okay?” He said, his voice low.
I rolled my eyes and bit my lips to hid my smile. “Of course. Why wouldn't I?”
He sighed and finished off his sandwich . “You're taking this way too light. I was hoping for a clinging hug from you yelling at me for an hour like ‘Don't leave me!' or something like that. And I get to play the prince charming and cuddle you until tomorrow. Things like that. You know.” He sounded truly disappointed.
I reached for his hand above the breakfast bar and tangled it with mine. “It's time for me to grow up Jace. I can't cling to you for everything now, I have to be brave, like you. I want to be as strong as you.” I held his hand tighter in mine and stared at him squarely. Hoping he would get it and understand,
